Given thatJames Wan has many ideas forM3GAN.20, it seems that the sequel will be just as fun as the original, but the second movie definitely needs to include several M3GAN dolls in the same scene. The season 2 premiere ofChuckyfeatures a fun scene of Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent) driving a van full of Good Guy dolls who suddenly cut themselves out of their packaging and descend on him. SinceM3GAN and Chucky are comparedso often, it would make sense to see more than one evil doll descending on the other characters.
Before the first M3GAN attacks Gemma, her company is getting ready to bring the doll to market. The sequel could see another company using the same technology and creating more dolls, since this was hinted at with Gemma’s coworker sneaking around at work. Or perhaps M3GAN works her sinister magic and clones herself. Either way, seeing many M3GANs will be hilarious and fun.
A Similar Campy Tone With Another Dance Sequence
M3GANworks because it’s campyand that includes the moment that went viral thanks to the trailer: when the doll does a wild dance. This not only led to people doing the dance on TikTok but also made it impossible not to want to see the Blumhouse movie immediately. The sequel definitely needs to follow the same tone and also include M3GAN dancing up a storm. Thanks to M3GAN and Wednesday Addam’s memorable dances, late 2022/early 2023 were all about viral dance moments and it would be great to keep that fun vibe going.
The doll’s great dance moves say a lot about who she is: brave, overly confident, and attention-grabbing. The dance also comes at the perfect moment in the story as by this point, Gemma is sick and tired of the doll offering up explanations all the time and ignoring her cues and guidelines. By the time M3GAN busts a move, it’s clear that she is going to try to battle Gemma for power over Cady.M3GAN 2.0would make fans very happy with more creative dancing.
M3GAN.20 Needs More Gore
There is anunrated version ofM3GANwhich has more blood and gore than the theatrical version, and fans would love to see a darker sequel. While the movie has a great campy tone that deserves to be celebrated, horror audiences are always seeking out the most shocking kills and unexpected moments, andM3GAN 2.0will only deliver that with more gruesome scenes.
While it makes sense that the original isn’t super bloody given that the focus is on the child character Cady wanting a friend while coping with the loss of her parents, the sequel can definitely shake things up and move in a more mature direction.
Cady And Gemma Team Up Against M3GAN
With the confirmation that Williams and McGraw are coming back to play Gemma and Cady inM3GAN 2.0, it would be fun to see the characters working together to fight M3GAN. This would allow the sequel to match the emotional tone of the original and would also ensure that Gemma and Cady’s relationship evolves.
Since Cady is so attached to the killer doll and so angry at Gemma for trying to keep them apart, it makes sense that the characters have so much tension in the original movie. But in order for theM3GANBlumhouse sequelto feel different, it would be nice to see Gemma and her niece getting along better and becoming more of a family unit.
A Surprise Twist
The killer doll trope has been done many times in the horror genre, andChucky is a timeless villainbecause he mixes humor with terror. He’s a killing machine but manages to have a lighthearted personality, which sets him apart. SinceM3GANalso uses this famous horror trope, it would be fun ifM3GAN 2.0had a surprise plot twist at some point.
This unexpected moment could come in the middle of the story or at the very end, but it would make the sequel a must-see movie just like the first one. Now that fans know that M3GAN can dance, manipulate others, and kill, it would be cool to see a new feature that Gemma didn’t anticipate when writing the code.
