Starfieldis the latest role-playing game to be revealed by Bethesda that hopes to be just as popular and loved as their other franchises such asThe Elder ScrollsorFallout. From what players have already seen through gameplay trailers and theStarfieldDirect that was shown during the 2023 Summer Games Fest; many players have their hopes up that the title will breathe some of its Bethesda magic intothe Sci-Fi RPG genre.

Naturally, this means plenty of fan-favorite features from past titles have been seen in the multiple trailers. These are only some of the things that have been spotted in past franchises that have a chance of making their way intoStarfield.

8Possible Survival Features

While survival hasn’t been a main feature of the likes ofSkyrimorFallout, players have been able to challenge themselves with survival modes to make the experience of these role-playing games harder. Players spotted while watching the Gameplay Deep Dive of Starfield that in one shot while exploring a distant planet the player’s HUD showed a cough as well as another showing the player ached.

This may imply thatStarfieldwill have somemore hardcore RPGfeatures such as surviving on these alien planets that are inhabited by few, or at least some sort of illness and disease system that is similar toSkyrim.

7Multiple Bases To Build On Various Planets

Fallout 4was the first game to introduce the player to another settlement needing their help. This also allowed them to construct theirsettlements across the commonwealth. WithStarfieldhaving an even bigger map that expands across multiple planets, now players can make even more bases as they create space outlooks.

Starfieldeven took creating bases a step further as players may not only make bases on land but can even customize the multiple ships they can collect; space explorers can give them their personalized style for when they blast across the solar system.

6Detailed Character Customization

WhileStarfieldmay not have as customizable character customization as the likes ofFallout 4, the character models are still incredibly detailed with a few of the sliders being taken directly from the post-apocalyptic RPG.

Players can choose between multiple noses, eye shapes, foreheads, etc. to make the perfect character that they control for their entire space adventure. What makes this customization an improvement from the past is its simplistic nature of it which makes creating the perfect space explorer that much easier. No more abominations – unless that’s what a player wants.

5All The Junk To Hoard

Unsurprisingly, with the introduction of base building like that ofFallout, players will also encounter plenty of junk for them to find and used to build the most perfect of bases. As players exploreStarfieldthey will find enemy outposts that are likely to be filled with all sorts of loot that is needed to sustain the player.

This may be a burden to some who just can’t keep their hands to themselves andmust pick up everything, even if this weighs on them heavily while trying to use their Jetpack. Besides this, players can find other resources across planets that will also have their uses.

4Multiple Factions To Aid

An important feature of Bethesda games is the multiple factions a player can get involved with while on their adventures. In theElder Scrolls, this meant taking a break from the main story to join the Dark Brotherhood or even become a werewolf through the Companions.

Starfieldhas an assortment of factions, both good and bad that the player can discover and possibly help. If the player thinks themselves to be quite the unlawful type, then maybe they wish to test their chances with the Crimson Fleet; though the main group of the game the player is sure to encounter and aid is Constellation, which is heavily attached to the main story of the title.

3Important Traits That Add Character

While the three main trait system is potentially new toStarfield, that allows the player to give theircharacter more of a backstoryas well as making a difference to certain options in the game. These Traits may be influenced by past features, especially those seen in the likes ofFallout.

Naturally, some of these traits have a more direct impact on the player with the likes of Alien DNA that gives the player a greater pool of health but unfortunately makes healing items less effective. Other Traits such as Starfield Hero Worshiped will give players the adoring fan fromOblivionthat may or may not irritate the player.

2Romances With Close Companions

A staple of many role-playing games is the chance to fall in love. WhileSkyrimallowed players to get married there wasn’t much romance to be had, meanwhile,Fallout 4allowed players to get to know their companions on a deeper level.

This has now made its way toStarfieldwhere Bethesda has revealed that four of the main companions the player can recruit can alsohave a romance with them. This is unsurprising with how loved the feature was inFallout 4, though Bethesda promises that relationships will be more complex inStarfield. Players can temporally upset their partners through certain actions as well as needing to get to know them through their quest lines before a romance can begin.

1Magic But In Space

This has had the least amount of information given about it apart from the small glimpse at the possible magic players got to see at the end of the extended gameplay revealed at theStarfieldDirect. Magic is something many players who have enjoyed theElder Scrollsare sure to be aware of withplenty of amazing spells, though how this will work inStarfieldis unknown.

From what has been seen, some may think that it may share similarities to the likes ofPreyas the player appears to bend gravity to their will, causing all the enemies ahead of them to float. This is one of the features many players are looking forward to learning more about, though it probably won’t be revealed until the game releases.
