For the ‘Meet The Deadline’ Trophy/Achievement inAlan Wake Remastered, players must make it from the Coal Mine Museum to Cauldron Lake within 30 minutes. This might seem like a big ask, but with a few changes to how players approach the challenge, they can master it easily, and with time to spare.
Although the images were captured in the updated version of the game, the same method applies to boththe original and the remastered versions ofAlan Wake.

Meet The Deadline Trophy/Achievement Guide For Alan Wake Remastered
This Trophy/Achievement is best unlocked during a repeat run of the ‘Mirror Peak’ chapter in Episode 3 whileplaying on Easy difficultyinAlan Wake Remastered. Trying it on a first attempt is unlikely to net players the achievement, as it’s best to know the general route of the level first. It’s also better to do right after the episode has been completed, so the map layout is fresh in players' heads.
From the main title screen forAlan Wake Remasteredchoose ‘Episode Select’, then ‘Episode 3’, and finally load the ‘Mirror Peak’ chapter. The section will start with Alan driving a car to the Coal Mine Museum.

This does not count towards the timer, so don’t worry about spending time looking for collectibles, likeManuscript Pages inAlan Wake Remastered. There are also some resources to be found if players want a little extra help.
The timer will start after the cutscene in the Coal Mine Museum, while Alan is on the phone with Alice’s kidnapper. Unfortunately, there’s no way to speed up the call, so players should just position themselves by the chain rope that leads to the floor below, ready to jump when the call ends.

Run to the other end of the building to press the switch that opens up a hatch in the middle of the room. Pick up some resources on the shelves beside theAlan Wake RemasteredCoffee Thermoson the way if players want some extra protection.
Go down the hatch and sprint straight forward to find aninfinite Revolver ammo box. Take as much as possible for the upcoming fight. Clear the encounter quickly, using the red canisters dotted about. Take out the flying wooden cart but sprint past the flying metal object to the next objective, picking up the flashbangs to the left in the wooden carriage before continuing. These inanimate objects are just one of manyStephen King references inAlan Wake Remastered.

Keep sprinting to the objective, avoiding any fights, until the sparking electrical fence is reached.Get in the car to quickly reach the other side and get out to turn the power off. Don’t waste time killing the Taken. Drive back to the fence and sprint up the stairs. Players might have noticed that some of the cars have been changed in this section, asAlan Wake Remasteredhad to change product placement seen in the original.
Use a flashbang or Flare Gun on the enemies who come bursting through the blocked doorway, and then take the resources in the next room. It’s best touse a flare under the ladder in the following room, and then climb without engaging with the Taken.

Sprint down the stairs and into the building ahead to press the switch and open the gate to the next location, which has a car and flashbangs as soon as Alan comes out the gate. Turn right and sprint through the woods towards the objective on the minimap.Don’t engage the Taken in the woods unless they have Alan surrounded. Use flashbangs and flares if needed.
Players will soon reach a Safe Haven where they canheal inAlan Wake Remastered. Continue towards the objective, and be sure to pick up the Pump-Action Shotgun by the work light across the bridge. Run through the woods without fighting any enemies. Turn on the work light after the small cinematic moment showing Alan getting surrounded, and then travel through the path behind it to another Safe Haven.

Sprint to the objective until a boss fight triggers.Do not fight the boss in this graveyard. Just use a flashbang or flare to get the enemies off Alan’s back, and push forwards. Players will find themselves in the ghost town, and a lot of inanimate objects will try to hurt them here.
Try to hide behind the environment to avoid their attacks while sprinting forward. The same tactic applies to the next area, where two large objects will try and hurt Alan. Sprint to the shack on the left to get a key first, and then sprint to the door and use it.
The bird section ahead can be completed easily by running while on the ground, butwalking while on the wooden planks, to try and avoid dying. Use the flashlight tohold off the Taken birds inAlan Wake Remasteredor a Flare Gun if low on health.
Fall into the mine and try to avoid every encounter while traveling through it. Use flares and flashbangs if possible, or even the Flare Gun. Players will eventually come to a small puzzle section in the Silver Mine. It can be easily completed by:
Exit the Silver Mine and go down the stairs. Continue to the Safe Haven generator, and then get on the cable car. Hold back the birds with Alan’s flashlight and flares on the ride across. Then, sprint up the hill and kill the two low-health enemies that appear on the way, using thequick reload mechanic inAlan Wake Remastered.
Run through the woods until a bridge is reached, avoiding any enemies on the way. A small cinematic moment will play, showing Alan getting surrounded, but justpop a flare or flashbang at the end of the bridge and run to the objective until a house is found. Go into the cellar and up the stairs. Pick up the resources scattered about if they are needed and then continue up the stairs.
The floor will collapse, and Alan will be surrounded, but just keep using flares and flashbangs until he is back at the top of the building and escapes down the side.Sprint until a small cutscene plays, and this is where the ‘Meet The Deadline’ Trophy/Achievement will unlock.
Should the rumors thatAlan Wake 2is in the early stages of developmentbe true, it will be interesting to see if it has similar trophies/achievements like this one, or if Remedy will go easier on players, as they did withControl.
Alan Wake Remasteredis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
