AnApex Legendsleak seems to hint that Ash might be getting her heirloom weapon next. Heirlooms are mythic-tier cosmetic items in the game that change the appearance of Legends' melee weapons. ThelastApex Legendscharacter to get an heirloom was Seer, who now wields a pair of curved sickles called Showstoppers.Ever sinceApex Legendslaunched in 2019, it has released one heirloom per season, with Wraith being the very first in Season 1. According to formerApex Legendsgame director Chad Grenier during a 2021 Reddit AMA, the schedule of heirloom releases were “largely based on what the team is fired up to make next.” There are a total of 15 heirlooms so far, and withApex Legendsrecently entering Season 16, players might just see the next one soon.RELATED:Apex Legends Players Want Audio Changes Following the Release of Season 16While there’s no official news yet on which Legend will get an heirloom, a leak fromApex Legendscontent creator KralRindo suggested that Ash might be getting hers. In the update sheet he tweeted, it indicated that Ash would be getting new melee animation, which usually implied that a Legend would be getting an heirloom. However, there’s no information yet on what kind of melee weapon Ash will receive and when it will come out.
Many Ash mains seem to be excited about the heirloom, with some joking that it will be a rat melee. Some are wondering what it would look like, especially sinceAsh already has a Ronin bladein her arsenal. Other players didn’t seem excited about the Legend getting an heirloom ahead of older characters like Horizon and Fuse.
BeforeAsh was officially added to theApex Legendsroster in Season 11, many assumed that her heirloom would be her Ronin Blade. It was later revealed that the blade would be part of her utilities as she uses it to tear open a one-way portal (Phase Breach) during matches. Recently, YouTuber WaterGotHim spotted “Death Sword” written inApex Legends' code, which seemed to point to Ash’s heirloom. He also surmised that the sword would look like a katana as seen being held by one of Ash’s rats in the “Protect Your Queen” tag.
As usual,Apex Legendsplayers will have to wait patiently for Respawn Entertainment to announce the next heirloom update. What will be exciting is a possible new Ash cinematic that would not only reveal the heirloom weapon, but also delve into her lore a bit more.
