8“Heroes Don’t Kill People.”
Hawkman speaks this line a few times throughout the film. He grows visibly more frustrated each time he sees Black Adam throw someone into the sky or electrocute them to death. Hawkman’s anger is something cool to see, and it’s played very well and seriously for the audience astensions between Black Adam and Hawkman grow.
It solidifies Hawkman as a hero with a clear code and solidifies Black Adam as something darker. It’s a great line that leans into a great scene in which Hawkman has had enough of the death Black Adam has caused, and they begin an epic battle.

7“It’s Been A While Since Anyone’s Made The World This Nervous.”
For years, fans have been calling for the return of Superman, as played by Henry Cavill. Thanks to Dwayne Johnson and his team, the fans were heard, and their cries were answered. Henry Cavill returned for theBlack Adammid-credits sceneand returned to the red cape, sporting a fresh and classic Superman curl.
Superman may only havetwo lines inBlack Adam, but they’re a doozy. It establishes the fact that this is the Superman that audiences know fromMan of Steel, as he references himself to when he made the world nervous surrounding his power and conflict with the Kryptonians.

6“Tell Them The Man In Black Sent You.”
Now in the modern age, Teth-Adam discovers that people with powers should say something cool upon killing someone or beating them. However, he doesn’t realize for a while that he is supposed to say it before he kills someone. It makes for a few funny moments, as well as a cool one, when he finally says the line without failure.
The scene is paired with his execution of Sabbac, in which Black Adam tears him directly in half by gripping each horn on his head. He utters the line before killing him, creating Sabbac’s last moments on Earth as one of fear before being sent to Hell.

5“My Powers Are Not A Gift, But A Curse. Born Out Of Rage.”
Conflict is a great way to introduce threats and drama to superhero movies.Teth-Adam also has a mysterious inner conflict. A character who doubts themselves is a powerful one indeed, and Teth-Adam doesn’t believe he deserves the great powers of Shazam. His mention that these powers are not a gift, but a curse, shows his self-doubt and inner hatred.

It further solidifies Teth-Adam as a character that is not one-note and does not rely on cool powers and lightning fingertips to interest audiences. His self-doubt makes him human, even when he has such immense power.
4“I’m Not Peaceful. Nor Do I Surrender.”
Black Adam has great power, and as he stands confident and stoic against the might of the Justice Society, he confirms that heonly knows destruction. By claiming that he is not peaceful, he is reaffirming the JSA’s position that Black Adam is a threat to the world, especially since he does not surrender. The last time someone with this level of power was unleashed, Metropolis was destroyed.
It’s an admiral level of confidence to have, especially in the face of powerful foes, even if they are heroes. Black Adam’s words seem a powerful threat that should not be taken lightly, for he has more than proved his power in the modern day.

3“I Kneel Before No One.”
Black Adam has a chilling charisma, especially with his cold delivery of great lines. Teth-Adam cements himself as a powerful warrior, proud of his origin from Kahndaq, as he boasts that he will not kneel for anyone, despite their power or respectability. It’s a powerful moment, considering Teth-Adam was a slave for years back in his own time.
It further emphasizes thatno one can stop Black Adam, and he knows it. He won’t back down from a fight, and he certainly won’t kneel even when he is defeated. The fact that he will keep going just means he’s a danger to all who see him as an enemy.

2“Fate Does Not Make Mistakes.”
The mystique and compassionsurrounding Doctor Fatecome from the allure that he can see into the future, but will not tell those of his visions. Doctor Fate and Hawkman have a great friendship in the DCEU movie, and the chemistry is so strong that audiences will believe that they have been friends for years. However, Doctor Fate makes an ominous warning about the future and what fate truly is.
It’s a chilling line with a great delivery from Piers Brosnan, who plays the magical and experienced sorcerer of Doctor Fate. It further accentuates the point that fate cannot be altered, and with over a century of knowledge and experience in the field, Kent Nelson knows that his visions are hard to alter.

1“It’s His Darkness That Lets Him Do What Heroes Cannot.”
The inner conflict of Teth-Adam certainly makes him more interesting than the likes of all-good superheroes. Anti-heroes have seen a recent rise in pop culture, with the likes of Harley Quinn, Deadpool, and Venom, just to name a few.
Black Adam joins the ranks of the list of anti-heroes and proves to audiences and heroes alike that due to his grey moral code, he can achieve greatness, even with a looming threat of evil. Black Adam proves that he is more than all-good and more than all-evil.
