The Gun Game mode inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2adds the classicCall of Dutymini-map to the game. Some fans have criticized developer Infinity Ward for not reverting to the classicCall of Dutymini-map inModern Warfare 2.For those unaware,Modern Warfare 2doesn’t mark enemies as red dotson the map whenever they shoot, as it only displays them whenever a UAV is active. This means that players cannot figure out the exact position of their opponents when they shoot from a gun without a silencer, much to the disappointment of someCall of Dutyusers. Now, it looks like this classic mini-map does exist inModern Warfare 2, but it seems to be limited to one game mode.RELATED:Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Bans New Season 2 Weapon from Ranked PlayAs reported by Dexerto, the Gun Game mode inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2features the classic version of the mini-map, allowing fans to see red dots whenever an enemy fires a weapon. This has been acontroversial topic inModern Warfare 2, as some fans want this mini-map to become the standard again inCall of Dutygames, while Infinity Ward states that it doesn’t want to punish players for firing their weapons.

Gun Game works differently from aregular 6v6 match ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which may be the reason for it having the classic mini-map. In a match of Gun Game, users are tasked with killing enemies with a series of guns in order, with the aim of becoming the fastest player to cycle through all available weapons.

While Gun Game has been a part of severalCall of Dutygames, it was recently added toModern Warfare 2alongside Infected and Grind. Activision added a separate playlist exclusively for Infected last week, with Grind and Gun Game now getting their ownplaylists inModern Warfare 2. Furthermore, Infinity Ward confirmed Drop Zone, All or Nothing, and One in the Chamber will be added in the middle of Season 2 ofModern Warfare 2, giving players a variety of game modes to try out throughout the season.

Season 2 also added a few maps toModern Warfare 2, but the core 6v6 maps weren’t entirely new, as Dome is based on an older map while Valderas Museum was present in the beta before getting mysteriously removed. While Season 2 adds a bunch of content, it’s unlikely for any of these maps or modes to get the classic mini-map, as it looks to be solely for Gun Game.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
