Activision and Infinity Ward recently pulled the curtain back onCall of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 2, which is set to add a slew of new content to the popular first-person shooter. This includes new playable operators, such as Simon “Ghost” Riley, who will be added to the game whenModern WarfareSeason 2 starts on February 11. Many longtimeCall of Dutyfans are excited to see theMW2favorite return to the franchise, but others aren’t too thrilled about his appearance.
In a since-deleted Reddit thread, which was saved by Dexerto, a number of fans complained about Ghost’s new look inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare. The main complaint from fans seems to be thatGhost’s new maskis unrealistic for a military situation, whereas his previously look was “practical and plausible.” Reddit user Divulci said that Ghost’s new look inCall of Duty: Modern Warfareas follows: “He looks like he carved the mask out of one of those cheap plastic Halloween skeletons you put in the yard.”

WithModern WarfareSeason 2 set to kick off in just a couple of days on February 11, it doesn’t seem as thoughInfinity Wardreally has the time to change the character’s appearance. However, it’s possible that there will be alternate skins available for players to unlock that allow them to make Ghost look more in-line with his classic appearance.
This isn’t the first time thatCall of Duty: Modern Warfarehas been criticized for changing content from past games. Infinity Ward made a number of subtle changes to theCall of Duty 4map Crashwhen it brought it intoCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, with the backlash severe enough that fans outright rejected its dedicated 24/7 playlist. The Crash 24/7 playlist was only in the game for a couple of days before it was pulled and replaced by the more popular Shoot House 24/7.
While some may be disappointed by Ghost’s appearance inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, others won’t be bothered and will be looking forward to the other content coming with Season 2. For example, we know that the popularMW2mapRust is coming toModern Warfarewith Season 2, though it’s unclear if it will be available at launch on February 11 or if it will be added a little later in the season.
WithModern WarfareSeason 2kicking off on February 11, it’s likely that a proper trailer will release on February 10. Fans should stay tuned for more information on Rust, Ghost, and what else Season 2 will have to offer.
