Season 5 ofCall of Duty: Warzonejust kicked off and players are flocking to the battle royale to check out all the new content. Fair warning, one of the changes inSeason 5 is that the Stadium has been openedand it’s flooded with players eager to check out the improved point of interest. However, players aren’t excited about every change in Season 5 as fans are voicing their displeasure on social media and Reddit over the Juggernaut suit being added to normal battle royale modes.

Players have been highly anticipatingWarzone’sfifth season since teases started to pop up a few weeks ago that hinted at different changes coming to the map.Leaked videos showed that trains would be introducedwith the new season and that addition was later confirmed in Season 5 trailers. Trains have been more of a welcome addition to the game as it adds new ways for players to get around the map and the trains offer loot to anyone looking to land on one. But with any update trying to keep a game fresh, there are typically one or two changes that don’t sit well with the community.

With the latest update,Call of Duty: Warzonehas added in juggernaut packages in all normal battle royale modes. Periodically, throughout a game ofWarzone, an event will happen that drops juggernaut loadouts into the battlefield. This event is similar to the Jailbreak or Fire Sale events added in Season 4 of the game. This means in a game of Solos, someone can grab a juggernaut loadout and wreak havoc on the competition, being a total powerhouse. What makes this addition feel unfair to players who aren’t lucky enough to get a juggernaut package is that juggernauts gain health when they eliminate other players and they are given a minigun that carries an insane amount of ammo providing a clear, and some would say a dominating, advantage.

Originally, juggernauts were added in exclusive playlists, aptly namedJuggernaut Royale, during a mid-season update for Season 4. Juggernaut packages would appear throughout the game for players to grab and in turn, dish out some serious damage. Once players assuming the role of a juggernaut died, they would go to the Gulag to fight their way back into the game, much like a normal battle royale mode inWarzone. If players liked the challenge of taking down a juggernaut or assuming the role of one, they had that opportunity in these playlists. But now, juggernauts are spilling over into normal battle royale modes causing some major headaches.

It’s not uncommon for developers to try new things to keep multiplayer games fresh. Teams need to take risks, make improvements, and keep these online games evolving while remaining exciting. This can be a hard task to find the next great addition to a game and typically it’s a trial and error process. Fans would agree that more points of interest and locations to visit can be a good thing but the addition of an overpowered loadout for those lucky to be nearby is a big negative.Call of Duty: WarzoneSeason 5seems to bring plenty of good additions, but one that has seriously annoyed some players.
