TheRay Gun’s lengthy historyhas been well-documented, with the weapon’s origins being just as unique as its overall design. Featuring in campaign easter eggs, Zombies maps, internet memes, and everything in between, the original Wonder Weapon is one of the most recognizable items in theCall of Dutyfranchise. Having an awesome reload animation, standout noises, and a flashy exterior, the single-handed weapon has appeared in every Treyarch game sinceCall of Duty: World at War.

While there have been several variants of the Ray Gun, such as thestronger Ray Gun Mark 2and the interesting Ray Gun Mark 3, artist Zachawee seems particularly attached to the basic version of the weapon. Showing off an art piece that likely took several hours to create, the Redditor’s take on the classic weapon is genuinely gorgeous. Pulled off using only pens and some black ink, the only thing missing from the Redditor’s art piece is the Ray Gun’s signature red color scheme.
The Redditor’s art piece shows off excellent shading, with each piece of the gun standing out from another. The glowing, exposed interior of the gun can be seen clearly, as can the gauge and the special sights on the back of the weapon. The bolts of electricity on both the top ofthe Ray Gun and its barrelare kept intact, showing Zachawee’s eye for detail clearly. With the handguard and side switch also included, this incredible artwork proved popular with fans almost instantly.
Currently sitting at over 5,000 upvotes, the post is filled to the brim with comments asking for a print. While it is unclear if the artist will sell prints of their work, this post is the latest in a recent string of creative pieces shared on the subreddit. Replicas of other weapons like the Thundergun and Wunderwaffe DG-2 have also been shared, while a fan-made commercial for theCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warperks also made the rounds. WithCall of DutyZombies’ perk cansalso brought to life by fans of the mode, it will be interesting to see what the community comes up with next.
With the original Ray Gun still standing tall as one of the bestCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarZombies weapons, it is worthy of all the love it gets from fans. While otherCall of DutyZombiesWonder Weapons have been better, none of them will ever be as iconic as the classic Ray Gun.
