Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warplayers have already determinedthe best weapon to use in Zombies, but not every gun can be a winner. YouTuber MrTLexify has seemingly discovered the worst weapon to use in the latest Zombies offering, though he still managed to have a good game with the gun.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarZombies’ worst gun is purportedly the M79 grenade launcher, a renamed version of the Thumper from theModern Warfareseries. MrTLexify knew going in that the weapon would be weak, and prepared his Twitch viewers for a rough experience as he was grinding out camo unlocks for the M79. However, he was not prepared for how poorly the weapon would perform in Zombies, as the weapon fails to kill a zombie on round one.

Essentiallythe reverse of aBlack OpsRay Gun, which kills into the higher rounds ofCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, MrTLexify had to get direct impacts with grenades for any kills to register. The weapon also managed to run out of ammo after three rounds, forcing the Zombies player to work around it. At one point in the video, Lex uses his fists on a horde of Zombies, highlighting just how bad the weapon is.
The grenade launcher’s performance could explain why aBurger Town mascot poops out the M79inCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s campaign, as a joke from the developers. Though Pack-A-Punching the weapon helped, Lex was still in a rough spot when using the grenade launcher, as it does splash damage to the player. Still, against all odds, MrTLexify found a way to make the weapon work.
By using the Ring of Fire Field Upgrade, MrTLexify made the weapon do a hefty amount of damage. The only problem with the workaround is that Ring of Fire takes time to recharge, but it was enough to make the weaker weapon more bearable, with MrTLexify making anextremely impressive Zombies exfilat round 50.
While Treyarch likely did not want the M79 to outshine the craftable War Machine, the launcher could still be a bit stronger, or at least less dangerous to use. Regardless, players now know not to use the M79 on theirDie Maschine Easter eggruns thanks to MrTLexify’s absurd Zombies experience.
