AFallout 4player online has shared images of a bizarre bug that makes Diamond City look like hell on Earth.Diamond City is one of the most iconic locations inFallout 4, but this bug allows players to see it in a whole new light.

As a Bethesda game,Fallout 4is prone to plenty of strange bugs, but luckily there aren’t many nowadays that seem to break players' games permanently. Bethesda has done a good job at ensuring a lot of the glitches have been ironed out, with the community removing a lot of them through mods too. That said, there are always some that manage to slip through the cracks, such as theFallout 4glitch that saw NPCs swimming in the streets. It’s good that the majority of bugs still in the game seem to make players laugh, as there’s nothing more frustrating than a bug that affects actual progress in-game.

TheFallout 4hellscape was posted in aReddit threadby user Verified_Cloud, and the sights are truly terrifying. The sky is completely on fire, making Diamond City look like it’s right at home in the depths of hell. Some in the thread even compared it toOblivion’s ending, where the gates of Oblivion open for Mehrunes Dagon to return. It’s certainly an apt comparison. Given thatFallout 4is a game about rebuilding on top of the ashes of a nuclear war, there’s something eerie about a scene that shows what the skies might have looked like during this ongoing apocalypse.

According to the user, they’re playing usingFallout 4mods, which could be one potential explanation for this bug. Although using mods can be one of the greatest ways to get more from theFallout 4experience, it can also be one of the most risky. It’s difficult to put together a well-balanced mod list that runs completely stable without unintended side effects, as there’s always at least one that tinkers with something without telling the player. That doesn’t mean that this bizarre hell landscape is definitely caused by a bug, but as far as potential theories go, it’s definitely among the most plausible.

WheneverFallout 5releases, it’s certain to come with its own interesting collection of bugs for players to unintentionally stumble across. It simply wouldn’t be a Bethesda game if it didn’t. Every gamer has their ownFallout 5theories, but bugs are the only sure thing. WithStarfieldandThe Elder Scrolls 6setto come from the studio first, this is something gamers don’t have to worry about for some time yet, though.

Fallout 4is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions coming in 2023.
