The game is afoot inCyberpunk 2077:Phantom Libertyand V now needs to take control of Aymeric and Aurore’s vehicle before their meeting with Kurt Hansen and Songbird. Yet, to do that, they need to spot the vehicle, and then drive it somewhere secluded, where no witnesses will cause complications for this next step in theCyberpunk 2077spy thriller mission.
The prelude to Firestarter will have players embark on a dangerous car chase, as well as a mild bout of snooping for some interesting tidbits of information surrounding the targets of Aymeric and Aurore, as well as a potential further prize with information related to the fallen Voodoo Boys Netrunner, Slider, who died inThe Damned mission.
It’s advised to create a save file before starting I’ve Seen That Face Before, as completing the mission will lock players into the next mission, Firestarter, which has consequences and different choices that will affect the ending.
Call Reed
After venturing to Farida, thesecret Ripperdocin Dogtown, players will have successfully given themselves a neat new faceplate so that they can disguise themselves as the FIA targets that they seek. To confirm that the operation was a success, players will need to call Reed and inform him of how things went.
Reed will let V know that it’s time toget to the Cassel twinsand to do so, they are going to need a vantage point to look out for their vehicle as it enters Dogtown. If players start the I’ve Seen That Face Before quest from Farida’s Ripperdoc clinic, they will be almost directly next to the vantage point. If not, then simply follow the waypoint.
Watch For The Netrunners’ Car
After the phone call with Reed, players need to reach the vantage point, which is located on a nearby rooftop. It’s fairly easy to climb up, as there are a few ladders and pieces of scaffolding that V can vault over. Once in position, players will sit and wait for their targeted vehicle. To find the correct vehicle, players need touse their Optic Scannerand scan vehicles that pass by at the intersection to the right of their vantage point.
A few things will occur before the vehicle arrives, such as a truck accident. Players will know that they have found the correct car becauseAymeric and Aurore will drive a Quadra Sports R-7 “Charon”, noted for its black and yellow stripe pattern. Once the car is located, simply watch it from the vantage point, where the car will soon park up and Aymeric and Aurore will head inside a building. From here, climb down to the vehicle’s location and get inside the trunk of the car to hide within.
Should You Eavesdrop On Aymeric And Aurore?
Now that players have jacked into the car, they are going to have access to the controls as well as the cameras. Players can use 4 cameras in total: One that faces Aymeric and Aurore, one at each side mirror, and one that faces the road. Players can use these cameras to eavesdrop on Aymeric and Aurore’s conversation, at the cost of Reed getting agitated that V is not taking control of the car as asked.
It’s a good idea to eavesdrop on Aymeric and Aurore, as the Netrunner twins will provide insight into their upcoming meeting with Kurt Hansen. After three eavesdrop chances, they will discuss what happened to Slider, the Voodoo Boys Netrunner. Througheavesdropping to this point, they will receive the Blind_N_Dead datashard later in the mission, which opens up a unique Voodoo Treasure Side Job.
Take Control of the Car
After eavesdropping, or whenever Reed gives the green light, players need to override vehicle controls and take control of the wheel, literally. Players will have access to Aymeric and Aurore’s vehicle, and they are on a time limit to drive to the meeting point where Reed and Alex are waiting. Since Aymeric and Aurore aretalented Netrunners, they will fight V for control of the vehicle, so be prepared to have some pushback when it comes to steering and driving at high speeds.
Players need to just follow the road and the waypoint to get the vehicle to its destination unscathed. One of the reasons eavesdropping could be risky is because every second that the vehicle is out of V’s control is a further distance the vehicle is from its destination from Alex and Reed, but players will have plenty of time as long as they pick up the speed.
Become the Cassel Twins
Driving to the meeting point, Reed and Alex will pull the twins out of the car after using a taser on them. What V might have thought was a simple kidnapping, turns out to be a complex murder. Alex and Reed kill the Cassel twins so that no witnesses can interfere with their plan, and so that Alex and V can assume the roles of Aurore and Aymeric without a hitch, and withoutthe difficulty of violence.
With the Cassel twins dead, players need to go over to Aurore’s body to take the Cynosure access code off of her corpse by hacking into her. If players eavesdropped on their conversation about Slider, they will also obtain the Blind_N_Dead datashard, which unlocks the Voodoo Treasure side job. Then, loot Aymeric to take his clothes.
With that all done, players need to simply get into the car and insert the behavioral imprint shard, and they will assume the identity of Aymeric Cassel, with Alex in the passenger seat as Aurore. The end of this mission willimmediately begin Firestarter, and there’s no turning back now.
