Cyberpunk 2077remains on schedule for its recently updated release date of September 17, though the COVID-19 pandemic could potentially impact that. Hype for CD Projekt Red’s next project afterThe Witcher 3is already growing, however. Joining in on the hype is Xbox, which has teased aCyberpunk 2077related announcement over the past few days. That announcement has now been made, with a Limited EditionCyberpunk 2077Xbox One X planned to launch in June.
In a new trailer for theCyberpunk 2077Xbox One X console, several of its custom features are shown. They include glow in the dark graffiti-esque painting, laser etching, and LED lights, as well as custom paneling over the entire console. It’s also bundled with a uniqueCyberpunk 2077-themed Xbox One wireless controller. As far as limited edition consoles go, Xbox has clearly put in a lot of effort to make thisCyberpunk 2077-themed console special.

Given its release date of June 2020, theCyberpunk 2077Xbox One X console will not be releasing with a copy of the game.Cyberpunk 2077was originally planned for release in April, so Xbox was perhaps hoping to launch this console alongside it then. The delay made releasing the console and the game at the same time impossible, and delaying the console too doesn’t make sense when theXbox Series X will be launching in late 2020. A June release without the game for the limited edition Xbox One X must have been the best option.
Another theory is that June is the latest that Microsoft would want to be manufacturingXbox One X consoles. After June, that manufacturing will very likely be dedicated to the Xbox Series X console. Though considering theCyberpunk 2077console is likely very limited, it’s unlikely to take up much manufacturing overall.
As for the console itself, beyond aesthetics there’s nothing abnormal, it’s an Xbox One X through and through. For those considering buying an Xbox One X rather than waiting for the release of the Xbox Series X later this year, and for thosevery excited aboutCyberpunk 2077, this is a great option.
Xbox has been teasing the announcement of theCyberpunk 2077Xbox One X for several days now. Unfortunately, theconsole announcement was leakedahead of time, which somewhat limits the impact of the reveal. It’s still clearly a very cool console and still adds to the hype train forCyberpunk 2077. In that regard, it’s a great success.
