The PC version ofDeath Strandingis set to have high frame-rate support and ultra-wide monitor compatibility. Furthermore, the PC version of the game will include a photo modethat wasn’t initially included in the console version but was later added to the PS4 in March. Additionally, the PC port ofDeath Strandingwill also have crossover content with Valve’sHalf-Lifefranchise, specifically a Headcrab cap that the player can wear in-game.

Death Strandingwas originally released for the PlayStation 4 in November of last year and received mostly positive reviews. Players, critics, andother developers praisedDeath Strandingdue to its unique gameplay and exploration of real-life themes. Players take control of the character Sam Porter Bridges, played by Norman Reedus, who is on a mission to reconnect isolated colonies via a wireless communication network.

As for what’s next at Kojima Productions, it has been reported that studio head Hideo Kojima is already working on a new project. Unfortunately, this new venture is still shrouded in mystery, but during an interview at the BAFTA awards,Kojima hinted that he is interested in making a horror gamein the future. However, theDeath Strandingdeveloper also pointed out that he doesn’t want to make just any horror game. Instead, he is looking  for ways to use a “revolutionary method to create terror, that doesn’t just make you pee your pants, but crap them.” As of the moment, no one really knows what Kojima is up to, but given his work onDeath Strandingand his canceled horror game,Silent Hills, the possibilities are just endless.

Death Strandingis out now for the PS4 with a PC version releasing on July 11, 2025.
