Deathloopreleased last fall and, for the most part, has been silent since then. That’s somewhat surprising for a game that seemingly dominatedState of Play after State of Play, event after event, prior to its release last year. And it’s doubly interesting to think about when the game that dominated so much of Sony’s marketing technically being a Microsoft game.

The developer ofDeathloop, Arkane, is part of Bethesda, and the shock and awe of this acquisition has slowly gone down. It’s reaching the point where players want to see games, and there are a couple of Bethesda Xbox exclusives in development.Starfieldmay be the big game this year, but Arkane’sRedfallis also highly anticipated. It’s probably not the only Arkane game this year, though, asDeathloopwill probably hit Xbox consoles too.

Deathloop and Xbox Game Pass

Earlier today, it was announced that formerPlayStation exclusiveBugsnaxwas launching on Game Passon April 28. This isn’t likely to be the last game, especially considering Microsoft’s acquisitions.Deathloop’s timed exclusivity ends on July 03, 2025, and while it’s not likely to launch on that exact day and date, Microsoft will likely put it on Game Pass as soon as possible. This happening before the end of the year seems likely.

Deathloop’s popularity and rave reviews will mean it’ll be a big launch on Game Pass, and it’ll be interesting to see what else, if anything, comes to the game at launch. Many will no doubt play it if they haven’t on PS5, but it would also make sense for Microsoft/Arkane to incentivize it a little more.Deathloophasn’t gotten DLC, but it very well could to coincide with its Xbox release.

After all, alongsideBugsnax’s Game Pass release is the Isle of BIGsnax update. This will bring players back to the game and some juicy new content for first-timers on Xbox too. It’ll be interesting to see ifDeathloopfollows the same path, releasing new content when it hits Game Pass as well. This is good for both platforms and everyone involved, as some story DLC will no doubt bring players back toDeathloop—on one console or another.

Deathloopis available now on PC and PS5. Its timed exclusivity ends on June 28, 2025.
