The first expansion forDisney Dreamlight Valley,A Rift in Time,invites players to embark on an exciting journey to Eternity Isle. This vast new region is composed of three distinct biomes, each featuring its own unique environments along with a wealth of resources. These resources include new crafting materials,cooking ingredients, and other surprises.

On Eternity Isle, players will find an experience familiar to their adventures in the Valley. With Royal Tools in hand, they will explore, gather materials,tackle quest objectives, and manage daily activities. As they journey across the biomes, more secrets and elements of Eternity Isle will be revealed. Along the way, players will come across obstacles that need clearing, offering crafting materials as rewards.

Removing Small Swirling Sands in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Swirling Sandsare a new type of obstacle that players will encounter during their exploration of Eternity Isle. These strange formations can be found in all three of the Isle’s biomes and often block pathways to new areas or access to treasures. Therefore, it’s important for players to learn how to remove these pesky obstacles.

How to Remove Small Swirling Sands

The player will encounterSwirling Sandsshortly after arriving at Eternity Isle, in the Ancient’s Landing biome. The landscape is littered with these strange floating swirls of stones and other obstacles, includingCopper Rocks. Both types of objects can be removed through the use of Royal Tools, with the right upgrades.

Swirling Sands are removed using theRoyal Hourglass, a new Royal Tool unlocked through completion of the quest “The Flying Metal Nuisance.” After completing this quest, you can remove Small Swirling Sands by approaching one with the Hourglass equipped and right-clicking or using the interact hotkey, just like using any other Royal Tool. When removed, they will drop Mist, an important currency used in crafting items and upgrades.

Swirling Sands in Disney Dreamlight Valley

It can be difficult to tell the two types of Swirling Sands apart at first glance. Before upgrading the Royal Hourglass, look for the Swirling Sands which feature very large floating rocks. These indicate Small formations that can be removed without upgrading. The Large Swirling Sands have more rocks at the base.

How to Remove Large Swirling Sands

To remove theLarge Swirling Sandsdotting Eternity Isle, players must upgrade the Royal Hourglass. The first step involves visiting the Timebending Table, accessible after the quest “The Sands in the Hourglass.” Here, players can upgrade the Royal Hourglass toLevel 1for5000 Mist.

Upgrading the Royal Hourglass allows players to occasionally find Ancient Cores while Timebending, and unlocks new crafting recipes. TheLevel 1 Royal Hourglasscan recoverAncient Core (Level 1), necessary for crafting the Large Swirling Sands Hourglass Potion.

Removing Large Swirling Sands in Disney Dreamlight Valley

To upgrade the Hourglass to be able to remove the Large Swirling Sands, players must craft theLarge Swirling Sands Hourglass Potionavailable under the “Special” category at theTimebending Table, using the following materials

Despite using the Royal Hourglass to complete the task, removing Swirling Sands is not a Timebending activity and therefore will not proc bonus Mist drops when accompanied by aTimebending companion.

How to Get Mist

Upon arriving at Eternity Isle, players are introduced toMistas a unique form of currency. This valuable resource is primarily found on Eternity Isle as players engage in Timebending activities using the Royal Hourglass. Additionally, completing daily tasks called Mist Duties will reward players with Mist.

How to Get Ancient Core (Level 1)

To secure anAncient Core (Level 1), players must upgrade their Royal Hourglass to the first level. Upon achieving this upgrade, you’re able to occasionally find Ancient Core (Level 1) as atreasure when Timebending. Further upgrades to the Royal Hourglass will allow the player to find higher level Ancient Cores required by certain crafting recipes.
