A YouTube video posted on the official Xbox channel details the new content coming toDoom Eternal. The minute-long trailer shows various clips of the new Master Level version of Super Gore Nest. Slayers can expect another remixed layout with an increased number of some ofthe strongest demons in the franchise, offering a new combat experience. The level also comes with its own set of unique challenges, with players earning cosmetics as rewards. The ultimate prize is the shiny Gold Combat Shotgun skin. An important thing to note is that the Master Level can be played at any difficulty setting, so casual players shouldn’t be scared off.

The video also reveals the addition of the Classic Mode Challenge. This new mode is actually a nod to the original 1993 game, where the player starts without their arsenal. The DoomSlayer must beat the level in an old-school style, picking up guns and mods scattered around the map. Players who manage to complete the Classic Mode Challenge will earn the Classic Green Slayer skin as a reward.

In addition to the new Master Level,Doom Eternalis also becoming more accessible to a wider range of gamers. Microsoft announced thatDoom Eternalis coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC. While the game has been available on Xbox Game Pass since October, it was limited to Xbox consoles. The PC addition should likely result in a flood of newDoom Eternalplayers, especially during the holiday season. The game officially launches on Xbox Game Pass for PC on December 3.

It’s always a good sign to see game studios continually support a game’s post-launch content, andDoom Eternal’s new Master Level and Classic Mode Challenge are shining examples. However, there is a big question mark surrounding the franchise’s future outside of Microsoft systems. Despite Microsoft now owning Bethesda, there’s still hope forDoomon other consoles. Xbox has stated that there will be some leeway with future title releases, although they will be"first, better, or best" on Xbox.

Doom Eternalis now available on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions currently in development and a Switch port launching on December 8.
