Summary
Goku is one of the most iconic anime characters of all time. As the main character of theDragon Ballfranchise since 1984 when the first manga chapter came out, he is seen by many to be the face of the genre as a whole. Taking this into consideration, we have seen Goku use a plethora of different moves and techniques over the years that all range from lethal attacks capable of blowing up entire planets to techniques that simply allow him totravel incredibly vast distancesin the blink of an eye. All of these moves are within Goku’s arsenal, and he has mastered them all.
Despite Goku having to amass a huge collection of attacks and techniques to choose from, however, there are a few that stick out in terms of pure destructive capability. These attacks are ones that Goku has been using for many years and some of them are quite surprising to see belong to someone askind and good-natured as Gokuas he would always rather see the flourishing of life than the destruction of it. But, if this same kindness falls on deaf ears and the villain that he faces is beyond redemption, Goku always has these extremely powerful attacks to fall back on to destroy evil completely. So let’s take a look at all such moves that Goku has used in the series.

Kamehameha
The Kamehameha waveis easily the most popular attack in all of anime and, contrary to popular belief, it’s not Goku’s original creation. This attack was originally invented by the legendary Martial Artist, Master Roshi, but has been pretty much synonymous with Goku ever sinceDragon Ball Z. Due to this, most people tend to associate this move with Goku as he is the one who has used it the most as the series has gone on, even tailoring and tweaking it to his different forms to greatly increase the attack power.
The Kamehameha wave is a blue-colored Ki blast that needs to be charged up a little within the hands of the user. It is then released forward in a wide blue beam that has great distance and destructive potential. The move only gets stronger as Goku uses it in his more powerful forms and it has worked well for Goku in pretty much all of his fights. Goku has used this move againstFrieza, Buu, Zamasu, Hit, and pretty much every single battle that he has been in, but the most iconic Kamehameha was used against Vegeta in the Saiyan Saga, where it clashed with Vegeta’s Galick Gun to save the Earth from getting destroyed.

Destructo Disk
Yet another attack that was not Goku’s originally, the Destructo Disk is one of the most dangerous moves that has ever been introduced in the entire series, being invented by Krillin. With the formation of achainsaw-like diskout of Ki, the user can throw this blast that can cut through almost anything and can be controlled mid-flight. Not only is this attack very useful and strong, but it has been used by both Goku and Vegeta over the years, showing just how great of a move it is.
This attack was first used by Goku in the Buu Saga, after he had come back to Earth to save it from being destroyed by a very powerful Majin Buu who, at that point, had absorbed both Piccolo and Gotenks. A similar attack, known as Death Saucer in theDragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichigames, was also used by Frieza in the Namek Saga. Goku used the attack again in the Tournament of Power arc in a new attempt to eliminate Jiren from the tournament.

Instant Kamehameha
Goku is a master martial artist and anabsolute geniuswhen it comes to fighting. As stated before, Goku took Master Roshi’s Kamehameha and was able to master it and tailor it perfectly to suit his own move set for this move, he charged up a Kamehameha which was noted by Cell to be powerful enough to blow up the entire planet and while doing this, he managed to use his instant transmission technique to get next to his opponent and release the wave at point-blank range.
Goku first used this move on Perfect Cell in their fight at the beginning of the Cell Games, showcasing his strategic genius at work. The move was further bolstered by the fact that Goku was already in his Super Saiyan form, which just compounded the overall power of the attack allowing it to completely decimate Cell’s top half. For any other villain, this attack would have ended the fight but due to Cell possessing the regenerativeabilities of a Namekian, he was able to grow this part back. Still, however, this attack was one that is considered an important part of Goku’s toolkit.

Dragon Fist
While this is a non-canon attack that Goku only ever used in theDragon Ball Zmovies andDragon Ball GT, it is still a very powerful and wholly original attack that Goku was able to perform. It consists of Goku charging at his opponent and completely focusing all of his Ki into a single fist and destroying his opponents by blowing a massive hole through their chest, forming a gigantic dragonthat envelopes them and finishes them off.
Dragon Fist was used by Goku in his Super Saiyan 3 form in the 13th movie ofDragon Ball Zwhere the Z-Fighters fought against Hirudegarn, a massive and towering foe that had laid waste to entire planets. Despite his size, the attack was able to make short work of him and inDragon Ball GT, the attack was used twice by Super Saiyan 4 Goku against Eis Shenron and Omega Shenron. The move was the same in principle though the dragon itself was now red instead of gold and the move was stronger because ofthe Super Saiyan 4 amplification.

Spirit Bomb
Goku’s Spirit Bomb is one of the most powerful attacks in the entire series, despite only having a 1 to 4 success rate when it was used. In principle, the attack works with Goku having to charge up an incredible amount of Ki with both his hands raised to the sky. Like much of Goku’s arsenal, this attack was also one that originally belonged to someone else (King Kai) but was perfected by Goku and unlike the other moves, this one requires energy from other living beings which allows the attack to grow in size.
The Spirit Bomb was first used against Vegeta, though its size back then was far smaller. Despite doing a significant amount of damage to the Prince, the Spirit Bomb was unable to take him out for good and its usage against Frieza spelled a similar fate for it. However, the oneused against Kid Buuwas gigantic and was able to obliteratehim completely, showing off its true strength when used correctly. But the one used against Jiren was very easily deflected back to Goku. Despite its limited success rate, the Spirit Bomb is a very powerful move reserved only for the strongest villains.

Supreme Kamehameha
While not its official name stated anywhere in the series, the fans have lovingly called this iteration of the attack the ‘Supreme Kamehameha’ and it is fondly remembered as the coolest moment in the series. While using his Ultra Instinct Omen form in his battle with Kefla during theTournament of Power, Goku was able to dodge all her attacks, finally jumping over her most powerful Ki blast and delivering a Kamehameha that he was charging up on his way to her.
This move takes everything about the traditional Kamehameha attack and builds up its strength by vast amounts because the form using it isUltra Instinct. Coupled with the form’s impeccable defense that is able to dodge every attack, this version of the Kamehameha is the most powerful attack that we had seen in the entire series up to that point.
