After hours of playing throughDragon’s Dogma 2, when players reach the final boss, they will be presented with a choice. Though the choice seems obvious at first, the player will encounter another choice after the fight, which cantrigger the true endingof the game.
In this world, not only will players have to face much more challenging enemies, but they will also have to be quick in their actions, as time is of the essence. Every area now has a major quest that involves evacuating the people to protect them from the fog that is slowly spreading. The Excavation Site in the Volcanic Island region has the Shepherd of the Pawn quest. Here is how to complete this quest and proceed to the endgame.
How To Complete Shepherd of the Pawns
Afterreaching the Volcanic IslandRegion, you will come across theExcavation Sitewhere a Golem is attacking. After dealing with the Golem.Henriquewill come up to you, and thank you for arriving at the Site. He will ask you to follow him all the way up to the Prison Cells. In the Cells, you will come across quite a few Pawns who are refusing to evacuate. Henrique will express how he does not like Pawns being enslaved and will ask you to talk to them.
After talking to the Pawns, you will find out that the Overseer must have used a Godsway to restrict them from leaving. Henrique will then give you theOverseers' Lodge Key,which should open locked doors in the Excavation Site.
Finding The Godsway
After acquiring the Key, you need to head out of the Cells and make your way to the upper part of the Excavation Site where theApothecaryis situated. Next to the Apothecary is a house that has two chests withDetoxifying DecoctionandDried Spud. Next to the house is a small staircase that leads to another house. Open this up using the Key, and you will find the Overseer dead on the ground with theDiminished Godswaynext to him. Make your way back to Henrique, and you may give him the Godsway, allowing him to take the Pawn to safety without delay. This will mark the end of the quest.
Shepherd of the Pawns Rewards
After you have completed the quest, the people of theExcavation Sitewill start to evacuate to stay away from the red fog.

You can use the Dragon’s Dogma 2’s Wyrmslife Crystals you acquired from the Evacuation quests to buy endgame armor and weapons for your Vocation from the Dragonforged, standing beside thePortcrystal at the Seafloor Shrine. You can also use the same materials toenhance your gearto a Level 4, which is unavailable at normal Smithy’s.
