Summary
Dragon’s Dogma 2is an RPG like no other that heavily relies onclassic role-playing game mechanics. While adventuring across the world, a player is likely to find plenty of materials and other items that may weigh down their pack but are actually vital to surviving this brutal world of monsters.
Many of these items can be crafted into other things, or outwardly benefit players during a battle. Therefore, these are the things players should always be picking up when they see them inDragon’s Dogma 2, no matter how heavy their pack is - that’s what having a pawn is for.

10Herbs
Vital For Crafting
While adventuring across the lands ofDragon’s Dogma 2, players are likely to encounter various herbs alongside the paths or on the edges of cliffs; while some players may be attempting to avoid picking up everything they see, each and every plant in this RPG has a purpose they fulfill.
Picking up these herbs and combing them with others can not only create healing potions, but also other potions that canremove various effectssuch as being on fire, poisoned, and much more. Some of these herbs can also be incredibly rare, which makes it even more important to pick them up when the player sees them.

9Food
Provides Valuable Buffs
Besides herbs, food is another thing that players are likely to encounter plenty of when on their journey. Whilean apple or a cranberrymay be eaten outright to gain back some health, these food items can also be combined with other items to create various dried goods or other craftables that can regain stamina or health.
Meat is another food item players can harvest during their travels. This becomes important when camping, as cooking meat can give players buffs for the next day of their adventure.

8Camping Kits
Get Back Lost Health And Avoid The Night
Players may be put off collecting camping kits from the wild due to how heavy they are. However, they are incredibly important for any Arisen and their pawn that hope to travel for several days without dying. Camping can help players regain lost health, but this can only be done if the player has a camping kit in hand when they approach a campfire.
Purchasing these can be a waste of money and that’s why it’s important to pick them up when they are spotted during a player’s adventures. Especially as they can be destroyed if the player’s camp is ambushed during their rest.

7Spell Tomes
Magick With No Need For A Caster
While players are likely to have a pawn who is a mage or a sorcerer, these vocations can only have a max of four spells equipped at a time. This leaves the player without plenty of powerful spells they may want to use. Thankfully, inDragon’s Dogma 2, while the player is on their adventures, they are likely to find various powerful tomes.
These books replicate various spells available to eitherthe mage or the sorcererwithout the person using them needing to be that vocation. These tomes become particularly handy when needing a certain elemental type of weapon to deal with an enemy.

6Arrows
Archers Are Useless Without Them
Arrows are an item that is entirely useless unless the player or their pawn is an archer. Certain weapon skills of the archer require the player to have various arrows available to them that the player can either craft or find while adventuring.
Thankfully, these arrows don’t take up much space in a player’s pack, so keeping them on hand isn’t going to be an issue for an Arisen. Players can also store them at an inn or their home if they don’t need them right away.

5Lantern Oil
Exploring In The Dark Is Difficult
Exploring in the dark can bedangerous but doable. However, if players forget to have a lantern on them, walking in the dark becomes near impossible. Therefore, players should always make sure they have a few bottles ofLantern Oilin their inventory in case their lantern goes out.
Oil can usually be made by combining various rotten foods together, but players are more likely to find plenty of bottles while searching through chests or breaking crates. Players won’t run out of oil too often if they are careful, but having a well-supplied stock at home is still important.

4Any Material Found
Enhancing Gear Is Crucial
Although quite a general thing to encourage players to pick up, it’s important to search the bodies of any foe a player defeats or mine resources from the sides of cave walls. All these materials are crucial for a player who is hoping to upgrade their equipment, especially as this can improve their stats.
Besides using them to enhance their weaponry or gear, any spares from defeating countless goblins can be sold for some extra gold when the player is struggling to buy a new pair of boots or they need money for an inn.

3Ferrystone
Allows The Player To Teleport
Players may be discouraged from fast traveling due to being encouraged to explore the world around them. However, there are some times when a player may want to quickly get back to the city. Players cannot do this for free. Instead, they must have aFerrystoneavailable and a marker discovered in the town in order to fast travel there.
Therefore, it’s important for players to collect every possible Ferrystone they can or purchase them if they areavailable at a merchant. These can be quite limited at times, which also makes them quite a valuable item that a player may be inclined to keep instead of using them.

2Wakestone Shards
Three Of These Make A Revive
Another valuable item players will want to be on the lookout for and pick up to keep whenever possible is Wakestone Shards. Once three of these have been collected, they will automatically join together to make a Wakestone. These are used to revive the Arisen when they have been downed by a foe instead of witnessing a game over.
Having one or two of these for the player at all times is important when adventuring, as they may never know what they might encounter. This is another item that players will want to keep for special occasions if they want to make the most of their Wakestones.

1Golden Trove Beetles
Increases Carry Weight
Golden Trove Beetles may be one of the most valuable items players are likely to collect during their adventure. They are even requested by other Arisen duringtheir pawn’s questsin the hope of getting more.
This is because these beetles allow the player to increase both their own and their pawn’s inventory weight, which makes finding more incredibly beneficial to the amount a player can carry. They are also quite rare, being found occasionally on trees or sold by traveling merchants, so players should keep their eyes peeled.
