One fortunateElden Ringplayer has found a unique rock that seemingly looks like a Somber Smithing Stone.Elden Ringcame out in February and has cemented itself as one of the best role-playing games of all time. Players can create their character and invest runes to level up specific attributes like intelligence, strength, faith, vigor, or dexterity. Leveling up a particular characteristic allows gamers to accessawesomeElden Ringweaponslike the Rivers of Blood katana, Hand of Malenia, and the Blasphemous Blade.
Besides leveling up their characters,Elden Ringplayers can also upgrade their weapons to make them more potent. However, gamers need key upgrade material called Smithing Stones and Somber Smithing Stones. Somber Smithing Stones are more valuable as they’re used to upgrade unique weapons like the Lion’s Greatbow, Bloodhound’s Fang, Bolt of Gransax, and Wing of Astel. These are rarely found in the Lands Between, let alone in the real world, but luckily oneElden Ringfan has found a replica.

Reddit user Kachinee uploaded an image on the social media platform that shows a rock that looks nearly identical to aSomber Smithing Stone fromElden Ring. Apparently, their friend found this piece of rubble at the back of their fridge. Upon closer inspection, this rock doesn’t appear to have occurred naturally but seems to be debris from construction material. Still, finding something that looks almost exactly like a Somber Smithing Stone is quite shocking, irrespective of its origins.
Most people were overjoyed to see Kachinee’s discovery and hoped to find one for themselves. This is not the first time anElden Ringplayer has encountered an essential item from the game in real life. For instance, onegamer found a Crimson Amber Medallion at a pawn shop, while another saw a Prisoner Iron Mask at a local museum. Players will probably stumble upon more interestingElden Ringartifacts in the real world as time passes.
Elden Ringhas ten types of Somber Smithing Stones, with the first nine labeled numerically and the tenth asSomber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone. Gamers can infinitely farm the first nine variants by purchasing them from the Twin Maiden Husks at the Roundtable Hold. First, they must find the respective Bell Bearings and have the adequate amount of runes to buy a particular upgradeable item. However, the same cannot be done for the Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stones, as only eight are scattered across the game world.
Elden Ringis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
