OneElden Ringplayer managed to take down many of the game’s well-known bosses with ease using one powerful magic weapon.Elden Ringis an RPG that allows near limitless freedom to player builds, with many viable weapons, armors, and magics that can make up a powerful build, where evencrafted items can take downElden Ring’s penultimate boss Godfrey. Some players like to go with the more simple greatsword build that is always effective, no matter what FromSoftware game it is. However, there are those that like to delve into the variety of sorceries that the game has to offer. One player decided to utilize the power of one specific magic weapon to decimateElden Ring’s bosses.

Elden Ringhas around 18 staffs in the game, a seemingly small number compared to the game’s apparent 308 weapons included. However, these staffs have proved themselves to be rather powerful, some being capable of defeating bosses likeElden Ring’s Dragonlord Placidusax with just one powerful spell. While some of the staffs offer no bonuses, just the ability to cast spells, there are several that give the player a boost to their sorceries, each one boosting a specific one, like the Carian Glintblade Staff boosting Glintblade Sorceries by 15%.

TheElden Ringplayer that went about taking down bosses with ease used a single Staff of Loss to attack while holding another in their other hand. In a post to r/Eldenring, user jdyhrberg uploaded a video that includes a montage of the player taking down some of the mandatory bosses that they need to take on to progress through the game. From Margit to the Elden Beast, the player stands from afar and shoots Night Comets at them, taking chunks of their health with each hit until they finally die.

The Staff of Loss is a staff that boosts invisibility sorceries by a large 30% as long as the player is holding it. What’s even better is that this effect is multiplied when another is being held, so if the player is holding two, like the one in the video, the power of the sorceries is multiplied by 1.69, according to users in the comments. The Night Comet is one such sorcery, and because they are invisibility sorceries, the bosses usually can’t see them and dodge them, like they do for some players who lament bow builds, even if some players cantake down bosses like Margit with just a bow.

As long as builds are well-made, players should be able to confront many bosses with whatever weapon they choose. Evenplayers that have low intelligence stats can find success inElden Ring’s mage builds. The freedom ofElden Ring’s combat is just like the world it takes place in, wide and far-reaching.

Elden Ringis available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
