The Marvel Comics crossover with Epic Games’Fortnitecontinues, and is growing week-to-week. This season ofFortnitesaw the introduction of Wolverine, Iron Man, She-Hulk, Storm, and several others, with players able to earn superheroes as outfits via the season’s Battle Pass, or by interacting with them in other ways. Epic isn’t done adding more Marvel content to the game, however. The latest patch notes forFortnitehint at another major Marvel character joining in on the fun: Blade.
Epic stopped releasing formal patch notes forFortniteupdatessome time ago, but it does provide content creators with an overview of sorts. In this overview, Epic dropped a small teaser for Blade. Throughout the notes, Epic highlighted certain letters in red which, when collected, spell “DAYWALKER.” A daywalker is a term used to describe half-vampires, or other vampire kin that are somehow able to walk in the daylight. It’s also a name that comics character Blade is commonly referred to.

Blade has been around in the Marvel comics universe for over 45 years, and stars in multiple major motion pictures. However,Bladecomics often aren’t the most popular in Marvel’s catalogue, and Blade himself often becomes more of a cameo character in other books. That hasn’t stopped Blade from being showing up in mainstream media, though, with Marvel Studios announcing an upcomingBladefilm starring Mahershala Ali.
As for how Blade will fit into theFortniteuniverse, much remains to be revealed. A Blade outfit seems obvious, but it’s likely Epic has bigger plans than that. Hopefully, the vampire slayer will be featured in further content alongside Wolverine, Thor, and the rest, which seems possible given theMarvel partnershipdoesn’t appear to be slowing anytime soon.
Blade isn’t the only new content teased in these patch notes.Fortnitewill also see the release ofWolverine as a bossthat can be fought in Weeping Woods, a new Takeover LTM that’s described as Marvel-themed, a music video debut from BTS inFortnite’s Party Royale mode, a special anniversary event forFortnite’s third birthday, and more.
Expect to hear more about Blade coming toFortnite, as well as more potential Marvel-themed additions, in the near future.FortniteChapter 2 Season 4is still in its early days, less than a month old, so there is a lot more of Season 4 to come, and Epic is certain to make the most of its Marvel partnership.
Fortniteis available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with next-gen availability planned for launch.
