Evil Westhas gone gold, just over a month before the game is set to release. Developer Flying Wild Hog’s new IP injects a taste ofGod of WarandDoominto the Wild West, with the vampire infested third-person action-adventure coming to players soon, published byFocus Entertainment.
Evil Westwasfirst revealed last December during The Game Awards, with the world premiere showcasing a unique world, brimming with monsters and the unorthodox tools that exist to exterminate them. On August 16, Focus Entertainment released a statement through Twitter notifying fans thatEvil Westwould be delayed by a couple of months. It cited that due to the number of consoles being developed for, more time was required to achieve the level of polish desired.

With the title now confirmed to have gone gold,Evil West’s previous delay will seemingly be the only one. Sharing a tweet which told prospective “vampire hunters” to prepare for November 22, Focus Interactive included an image displaying physical copies of the game. Despite only presenting those for PC, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PS5, the game is indeed releasing on PS4 too. A reply from Focus Interactive reiterated that pre-ordering the game will grant players the “Wild Wild East” skin pack, unlocking a separate appearance for Jesse, the protagonist players will control, and a “unique skin” for his arsenal.
Taking lessons fromCyberpunk 2077, going gold does not necessarily guarantee performance or the absence of bugs. Fortunately, if recent previews are representative of the final product,Evil Westlooks to be promising in this regard. No file size is yet to be announced for any platform, but the PC specifications show the title to be very reasonable, with recommended system requirements listing memory of only 4GB, an NVIDIA GeForce 510 and an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400.
The community response to both the delay and recent updates are indicative of the positive sentiment surrounding Flying Wild Hog.Trek to Yomi, its most recent release, was described as an “impressive feat” for the developer, and it is evident the artistry present in that title returns withEvil West’s aesthetic combat. Some in the comments were noting how this would have been the perfect Halloween title, but not to worry, as Focus Interactive are releasingA Plague Tale: Requiemin just under a week, on October 18.
Evil Westwill be available on November 22 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
