Bethesda recently made some changesto the way that Stimpaks function in the world ofFallout 76. The news was revealed in the patch notes for the announcement that Invaders from Beyond Update forFallout 76had arrived in the Public Test Server. According to the notes, Stimpaks and Diluted Stimpaks have had their weight and prices both reduced by a good 25%. Additionally, players who frequent Medical Vending Machines may notice that an increased number of these items will appear inside.
Redditor macadow began complaining about the news immediately, accusing Bethesda of beingout of touch with theFallout 76community. They asserted that few players bought Stimpaks and Diluted Stimpaks from Medical Vending Machines, so the update was irrelevant. While this may seem like a harsh stance to take, it appears that other fans are actively concerned that the Stimpak changes could break the game. Bethesda has a history of releasingFalloutgames with serious glitches, andFallout 76is no exception.
Several users replied to macadow’s post expressing fears that this change could negatively impact gameplay. A group of users began discussing the possibility that the Stimpak changes could lead to serious and potentially game-breaking bugs in other items, including the series' iconic powered armor. Other users noted that they did not buy Stimpaks from vending machines and had no intentions to start. A few users noted that the changes to Stimpak prices could impact them, as they made a habit of selling Stimpaks to vendors every day. For the most part, however, it seems thatFallout 76players expect the worstfrom this change.
