In a series of videos shared online, TikTok user french.rugs gave viewers a front-row seat as they created a gorgeousWorld of Warcraft-themed rug. The first video shows theWorld of Warcraftlogo being projected onto a taut piece of heavy fabric before being carefully traced with a marker. Once the outline of the logo is transferred to the fabric, french.rugs gets to work with a tufting gun carefully filling in the design with the appropriate colors before the video ends.World of Warcraftfans were impressed with the unique creation even in its unfinished state, with several responses to the video already asking about buying one for themselves.
With the design filled in, a follow-up video shows the rug being carefully trimmed to finish it off and make the design pop. Shaving off excess fabric before carefully going over the entire thing with a trimmer and hand scissors, the laborious process helps make lines and edges in the logo appear clean and crisp. Satisfied with their work, french.rugs tosses the finished product on the ground, showing off a stunningWorld of Warcraftrug that would fit perfectly in any game room. While players of Blizzard’s MMO have made everything from paintings to a fully-animatedfan trailer forThe Secrets of UlduarpatchforWrath of the Lich King Classicto pay homage to the game, this rug may be one of the most unique tributes yet.
Although it’s unlikely that french.rugs will be able to sell their impressiveWorld of Warcraftrug without bringing down the wrath of Blizzard’s lawyers with more fury than a high-level raid boss, watching their creative process should be a treat for fans of the MMO. Maybe Blizzard could add the rug to thetrading post inWorld of Warcraftif they ever add the oft-requested player housing to the game.
