The flagship Nintendo Switch tactical RPGFire Emblem: Three Houseshas drawn some controversy following the inclusion of its protagonistByleth inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate. However it’s still a wildly popular and acclaimed title for the long-running series, and few things show the dedication ofThree Housesfans more than a project remaking the game as a GameBoy Advance title.
The most recent two-and-a-half-minute video showcasing thisFire Emblem: Three Housesdemake was uploaded to the Vilibear YouTube channel on February 3, but the project originally started as a one-shot recreation of the game’s prologue uploaded on Jun 07, 2025. That video received so much traction with people looking to lend a hand that the development team uploaded a video on Christmas where Byleth announced they would work on the rest.

Last week’s update video says the team is currently working on Chapter 5, and then jumps into beta footage playing underneath a chiptune version of the mainThree Housestheme. Fans of the threeGBAFire Emblemgames(The Blazing Blade,The Binding Blade, andThe Sacred Stones) will immediately recognize the impressive amount of work put into recreating characters like Dorothea and Felix over the class sprites used by the likes of Nino and Joshua.
However, more impressive is the full recreation of Garreg Mach Monastery, alsoadded intoSmash Ultimate, where Byleth can meander the grounds and take part in a slice of life mechanic like talking to students, gardening, and answering anonymous concerns.
In the comments of the video the developers confirm they are only going to be working on the Blue Lions route, one of three sides players can choose within the main game, not counting the upcoming"Cindered Shadows" DLC side story. They also respond to a very concerned commenter wondering if the ever-popular Gatekeeper would be included, which the developers confirmed would be added.
It’s hard to overstate just how amazing the work put in by this team is, and frankly, it would be interesting to see a similar amount of passion thrown at a GBA-style remake of one of the lesser-knownNES or SNESFire Emblemgames. For now though, the internet should count its blessings and support this fan project as it moves “full speed” into development by checking out theThree HousesDemake Discord.
