Fortnite’s map has slowly been reverting back to its non-flooded state. The receeding waters have revealed new secrets and locations, with more new stuff on the horizon. While cars may not be driving around the island yet, thenew location Coral Castleis already available for exploration.

The map ofFortniteis in flux pretty often, with mini-games, objectives, and secrets coming and going fast. There is seldom a moment when players cannot find something to do, even if they’re not engaging directly in firefights. However, for every intentionally secret or hidden objective,Fortnitesprouts at least one bug or glitch, and some are already surfacing as the map re-surfaces.

One of the flooded locationsreleased from the depths earlier in July was Risky Reels. The drive in theater has plenty of materials for players, and has a history of several events taking place there. Now it is the site of a major glitch. If players perform several very specific steps, they can actually shunt themselves underFortnite’s map. From this location, they are safe not only from enemy fire and detection, but also from the Storm. Players can sit under the map and let the Storm pass right over them, at which point no one else can even get to the spot where the glitch occurs. It’s a simple way to get easy wins.

The steps can be seen in the video above, but here’s the rundown. The glitch requires some wood, a Choppa, and a wide clear area. It unquestionably works at Risky Reels, and probably won’t work at a crowded area like there-surfaced Weeping Woods. Once the correct area is cleared of trees and such, a single wood panel must be placed next to a specific bush. Then, land the Choppa so just its front half is on the panel. After that, build wooden walls around the Choppa so it won’t bounce when wooden pyramids are built under it. After boxing in the Choppa, get in and switch seats immediately. The Choppa tries to fly and gets shoved under the map along with the player.

It’s not exactly one of thehardestFortnitechallenges, especially with such a detailed guide to accomplishing it. Considering the results though, it’s definitely a glitch that many will find worth exploiting. Already players are cruising to easy wins on the underground ocean.

No doubt this glitch will eventually be addressed by Epic, but there has been no statement as of this article. It’s hardly the first major bug for the game, and it will not be the last. It wasn’t long ago that ausername bug causedFortniteto crash. That said, the presence of bugs like this will probably always be a part ofFortnite’s existence.

Fortniteis available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, iOS, the Switch and Android. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are in development.
