At the beginning of April, Sony made the shocking announcement thatThe Last of Us 2was delayed indefinitely, but Sucker Punch’sGhost of Tsushimawas still on track for its June release. Now at the end of the month, Sony has made another shocking announcement, confirming a new release date forThe Last of Us 2while simultaneously delayingGhost of Tsushimaby a month, so that it’s now coming out in July.
The newGhost of Tsushimarelease date is July 17, whereasThe Last of Us 2is coming out on June 19. It seems that theGhost of Tsushimadelay is likely not due to the development team needing more time to work on the game. While this wasn’t specified by Sony, the more likely scenario is thatGhost of Tsushima’s delay is simply to giveThe Last of Us 2more room in June and so that the two games aren’t competing with each other.
