A particularly chilling early encounter inGotham Knights, Mr Freeze makes his first appearance murdering scientists just to spite our heroes. When players finally get to face of with Freeze he puts up a real fight, with flurries of icy attacks. Fortunately, he’s a mighty glacier and won’t be dodging any blows in this bout.
Gotham Knightshas a small but well-rounded roster of villains, including Clayface, Harley Quinn, and Mr Freeze. Facing off with these villains caps off most of the game’s cases, and each of them offers a tricky boss fight or two before the case can be closed.

How to Beat Mr Freeze
Mr Freeze is fought in a circular arena with his Weather Machine at its center. This is more than a set piece, as Freeze will use it between phases of the fight to unleash wide-area attacks that can shave away tons of the player’s health.
Mr Freeze has a powerful charged shot he can fire from his Cryogun, so players should sprint in a circle around him as he charges to dodge the shot, or dodge to the left or right just as he fires so that it misses, and try to stay close enough to land a hit on him afterward where possible.

Mr Freeze tends to reposition by launching himself into the air, dealing damage in a small area around him as he does so. A blue targeting area made of blue hexagons will appear around and under him when he is preparing to launch, so players should get out of that space immediately to dodge the attack. Players should also avoid charging Freeze right after he lands, as he creates a field of frozen spikes around his landing spot that deal damage to the player, so waiting for those to fade before trying to press the attack is ideal.
When red hexagon targets appear underneath the player, players should start moving immediately. Freeze will launch ice missiles that will impact where the hexagons indicate dealing AOE damage, but the target positions lock in a second before it actually fires, so a fast-moving player can be out of the attack’s range by the time it lands.

Freeze can also attempt to swing his Cryogun at the player when they’re nearby, but this attack can be interrupted with a piercing attack or perfect dodged and counterattacked to great effect.
During the first phase players can dodge Mr Freeze’s shots by ducking behind the cover around the arena, though it will eventually get destroyed as the battle progresses.
After taking out about a quarter of Mr Freeze’s health bar, he’ll launch into the air and land on his weather machine. He’ll then trigger three spinning freeze beams that can be avoided by ducking behind the cover, though this attack will destroy all the cover in the aftermath, so this won’t work next time. He then rains cryo blasts from the sky, indicated by blue target indicator hexagons showing where the bolts will land. Players can avoid this by sprinting away from the indicated spots and keeping out of the way of his attack indicators.
After his ice barrage from the sky, Freeze fires the three spinning freeze beams again and there’s no cover to protect players this time. Players should back away from the beams when they’re firing down toward the ground near the machine and always keep moving, so the beams can’t catch up.
After this series of attacks, Mr Freeze will land and continue fighting as before, though he’s gained a new move. Freeze will sometimes use a laser sight to start lining up an attack, and players should immediately start sprinting to the left or right. If possible players should circle around Freeze, as this attack tries to follow the player but can’t keep up while the player is moving at full speed.
After reducing Mr Freeze’s health bar to just under half he’ll launch himself back onto his Weather Machine and unleash another beam attack. Use the same tactics as before to dodge around them but watch out, as they occasionally glitch and freeze in place, alternating between low and high beams, which can catch inattentive players off guard and result in running headlong into the attack. Freeze then repeats his cryo blast rain attack from earlier, which can be dodged in the same way. After a short while, he will start another beam attack while continuing the blast rain, so players will need to avoid the targets on the ground whilst staying out of the path of his beams as before.
Mr Freeze lands back in the arena and continues fighting after this, but his moveset is identical to before so players need only remember his attack patterns from earlier and keep up the offensive to put him on ice.
