One hilariousElden Ringclip shows a Runebear interrupting a player’s PVP fight with an invader. InElden Ring, while there are multiple arenas that can’t be trespassed into while a fight is ongoing, most fights in the game will take place in the wide open world of The Lands Between. When fighting out in the world, or not within restricted arenas, anything goes and any enemy is liable to come in and join in on the fight. Those intervening are liable to be the end of the fight, like whenone player was killed after an Ulcerated Tree Spirit grabbed them. However, during one particular PVP fight, players suddenly found a massive Runebear to interrupt their fight.

Runebears, and by extention the lesser runebears, are some of the more feared regular enemies that can be found inElden Ring. Gigantic, hulking beasts that deliver heavy-hitting attacks to the prey it chases, and has most likely killed every player at least once in their first playthrough. Not everyone is lucky to encounter aglitch where a Runebear sinks into the ground, and fighting them can be a challenge, especially when there are more than one. One doesn’t want to be chased down by them.

Luckily or unluckily, one ofElden Ring’s Runebears just managed to waltz their way into a PVP match to end it early. Posting to r/Eldenring, user NtailWolf3 uploaded a video of a PVP fight they and a partner had with an invader. The fight seems to be going in the host’s direction, and this is only solidified by the sudden Runebear that comes in and slams down on both the partner and the invader, killing the latter while chasing after the former. While it’s still a scary situation for the partner, this sudden interruption did give a win to the host.

Usually PVP invaders aren’t hostile to the enemies in the overworld while they are invading. In fact, they usually help the invader, like when oneElden Ringinvader won a PVP match by just waving at their opponent. Despite this, they can still be hit by enemy attacks, as seen in this case where the Runebear’s attack that was most likely aimed toward the partner also managed to hit the invader and kill them.

Sometimes, not even the clever tricks most PVP players use - likesetting up the perfect ambush in the Lake of Rot- can withstand the pure strength of an unlucky situation. Even when things can seem to be on one’s side, there is always the chance, however slight it may be, that things will take a turn for the worse.Elden Ringis a game where one should always be aware and ready to adapt to any situation, no matter how easy things may be.

Elden Ringis available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
