One of the biggest surprises duringPlayStation’s June PS5 event was IO Interactive’s newest entryin the belovedHitmanfranchise:Hitman 3. This game will conclude the latest iterations of games as a trilogy, and it seems that IO Interactive is wanting to pull out all of the stops for the conclusion with plenty of new features, such as VR support on PlayStation VR.
VR gameplay forHitman 3was confirmed earlier this month during a Sony State of Play. At that time, the game’s Senior Game Designer, Eskil Mohl, said that he believes that PSVR plays wonderfully to the strengths ofHitman 3’s sandbox gameplay. IO Interactive went on to say that not only will players be able to experienceHitman 3in VR, but they will be able to play through the entire trilogy this way as well.

To get players excited for this new way of experiencing theHitmanfranchise, IO Interactive has taken to Twitter teasing the various possibilities inHitman 3’s new VR mode. Through these tweets, players can see hilarious GIFs, such as tapping someone on the shoulder before smacking them over the head with a crowbar.
Other GIFs IO Interactive has tweeted show that players will also be able to blind fire around corners, as well as take a nice relaxing day on the beach in the game’s VR mode. While these are but a few of the things that can be done in VR acrossHitman 3’s new and returning modes, it’s clear that once players get their hands on the game that tons of shenanigans will make their way onto social media.
It seems that PlayStation players, in particular, will have a lot to look forward to whenHitman 3launches in January of 2021.Hitman’s creative director, Mattias Engstrom, recently praised thePlayStation 5’s load timessaying that the game’s saving and loading times have greatly benefited from the console’s SSD. He went on to say that these load times should allow forHitmanplayers to experiment with their murder plots a lot more frequently.
While PlayStation players will be ecstatic over the wealth of features coming inHitman 3, some PC players are less than enthusiastic for the game. Recently, it was announced thatHitman 3would be a timed one yearexclusive for PC players on the Epic Games Store. This means that players who enjoyed the first two games of the trilogy on Steam will have to wait a full year before they can enter this final world of assassination. It looks like those PC players may have to switch clients if they are dying to play the game at the same time as everyone else.
Hitman 3is scheduled to release in January 2021 on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
