The build-up toHogwarts Legacyhas already been incredibly hyped. The open-world,Harry Potter-themedadventure game has fans of the movies, books, and RPGs quivering with excitement.

RELATEDHogwarts Legacy’s Appeal May Be The Puzzles

Despite its theoretical Holiday 2022 release date, not much is known about the upcomingWarner Brosgame. The developers have been rather tight-lipped, so fans have started speculating about what content the game will have — for instance, which magical creatures would make good bosses in the game? Which would be an interesting and new fight? Some creatures have been spotted in the trailer released during Sony’s State of Play, but they are not confirmed to be boss fights or roaming low-level enemies.

8Merpeople

Not too much is known about what resides in the deep, dark lake around the Hogwarts grounds: but there are the Merpeople. They appearedinHarry Potter and theGoblet of Fire(sort of, those were technically Selkies), and could make for an interesting boss fight.

Remember those Drowned inMinecraftthat throw tridents at the player? Yeah, they could be like that. This type of fight could utilize interesting mechanics, seeing as it would be underwater, like casting breathing spells to stop more damage to yourself at the same time as being in combat.

7Dementors

As anyHarry Potterfan will know, Dementors are a fearsome enemy. The black, clouded creatures feed on humans' happiness by sucking it out and replacing it with a sense of dread and depression.

In a game setting, this could be shown with a meter or status effect of sorts and could give reason to have a Patronus feature, too. There could be a portion of the game where players go on a quest and discover their Patronus animal. In terms of plot, it would need to introduce the Dementors — as they’re not naturally occurring, given that they reside in the Azkaban prison as guards.

6Dragons

It wouldn’t really be a fantasy game without a dragon boss fight, would it? It also wouldn’t be aHarry Pottergame as the giant winged monsters are a prominent part of the stories. It has even been confirmed that dragons are definitely in the game already.

To make it a little different, though, it could be a wild dragon that’s moved into the area that needs casting out — perhaps a species native to the British Isles. Or, it could be one that’s terrorizing thelocal muggle or wizarding community. Students would need to cast some fire proofing spells, and other specific countermeasures to evade it.

5Acromantula

What would be truly a disturbing foe, and would almost turnHogwarts Legacyinto a horror game, is the dreaded acromantula. First spotted in the 1700s, it would be possible for these eight legged monsters to appear in the new game. The books and movies introduced us to Aragog and his extensive family residing in the Forbidden Forest, and it is known that they aren’t a very friendly species.

Thereforem what about a huge, angry, evil acromantulathat players must beat in the depths of the forest? Maybe it could mention Aragog, maybe not; but either way, it would be a daunting foe.

4Thunderbird

Introduced inFantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, the majestic Thunderbird is a large snake-like bird that can create storms when it flies — hence the name. It strikes an imposing silhouette. To add another dimension to the gameplay and more mechanics, a fight with an airborne Thunderbird would be perfect.

Imagine it: scholars are tasked with shooting spells upwards at it while in flight, or trying to find higher vantage points to be able to snare the avian from. The goal could even be to tame it, or ride it!

3Troll

OK, so there hassort of been a boss fightwith a troll in theHarry Potterfranchise already, but inHogwarts Legacyit could be bigger, better, and involve more than a handful of children to beat it.

RELATEDHogwarts Legacy’s Spells Should Open Build Diversity

Instead of it being inside the castle, it could be encountered in the school’s grounds or even near Hogsmeade, and could have specific attacks of its own and weaknesses to certain types of spells. This would differentiate it from the film version, while also bringing some familiarity.

2Demiguise

AnotherFantastic Beasts-based newcomer to the movie lore is the wily Demiguise. It is a furry creature that can turn invisible when threatened, and see the future. Due to this, they are very hard to catch and rely upon witches or wizards doing something unexpected to be able to get at them. It is said that their hair can be woven into invisibility cloaks.

They are usually peaceful, but what if there was a rogue creature? Maybe someone jinxed it, and that just needs to be recaptured? Perhaps a grumpy Demiguise got loose in the library — it would need some skill to track down and catch!

1Kelpie

Allegedly, the biggest Kelpie in the Potterverse lives in Loch Ness, and is the very same Monster that muggles are so in awe of. This gives the local wizards a hard job to do to keep it concealed, as Kelpies are attracted to humans by nature.

Kelpies are large, shape-shifting beasts that usually appear as horses, and are carnivorous. To tame one, a witch or wizard must get a bridle on them using a Placement Charm. This would be a cool addition into the game and encompass previous lore from the series, as well as offer a different fight that requires specific actions.
