Yesterday, PlayStation’s State of Play centered onHogwarts Legacyand finally put to bed a number of questions fans had about its gameplay. Indeed, this showcase offeredHogwarts Legacy’s first official gameplay revealwith a lot to unpack, especially due to the fact that it is still scheduled for a release before the year’s end this holiday season.
Hogwarts Legacy’s spell-casting wand duels, Hogwarts house common rooms, and extracurricular activities were delved into. Following the 14-minute gameplay showcase, Avalanche Software developers shareda bit more insight onHogwarts Legacyalong with concept art. But that is not the only place fans can look to if they crave even more answers to their questions aboutHogwarts Legacy. Fortunately, the game’s website has been live since its announcement with an elementary FAQ that has now been updated to reflect questions fans may have since the showcase.

The website’s FAQ addresses questions such as “Will players establish friendships inHogwarts Legacy?” and “Can players choose their Hogwarts house inHogwarts Legacy?” But one question in particular asks what many fans have been unsure about despite previous statementsaboutwhetherHogwarts Legacywould feature a multiplayer component. One FAQ questions directly asks “DoesHogwarts Legacyhave online or co-op gameplay?” to which the answer is “Hogwarts Legacyis a single player experience and does not have online or co-op gameplay.”
This may not come as a surprise if fans have kept up with the information that Avalanche has shared in the past, but another definitive answer is welcomed and appreciated. Now, fans will know precisely what to expect, at least forHogwarts Legacy’s launch. Other questions answered in the FAQ addressed features such asHogwarts Legacy’s customizable Room of Requirement, for example, which pertain more to the information that was showcased for fans at the State of Play.
Instead of multiplayer co-op where friends can roam around Hogwarts together,Hogwarts Legacyinstead focuses on NPC companion relationships that appear to branch into their own quest paths. While it would have been a fun feature to duel other players online or engage in other activities with players from different Hogwarts houses,Hogwarts Legacylets players visit Hogsmeadeand roleplay as a witch or wizard in its ambitious open world with many features to satisfy them anyhow.
Hogwarts Legacyis currently scheduled to release in 2022’s holiday season for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
