Ascension inHonkai: Star Railis a familiar feature for those who have previously playedGenshin Impact. It’s a mechanic where players must spend certain materials to remove the level cap on the desired character. Initially, Ascension only requires some common items, but as the game progress, players eventually have to start farming bosses for the required materials.
Unlocking Stagnant ShadowinHonkai: Star Railrequires players to reach a certain level in their game. Unlike inGenshin Impactwhere people can fight these bosses even before the required World Level, inStar Rail, Stagnant Shadow is hard-locked behind the Trial of Equilibrium.

How To Unlock Stagnant Shadow In Honkai Star Rail
To unlock Stagnant Shadow inHonkai: Star Rail, players simply have tocomplete the second Trial of Equilibriumand increase their Equilibrium Level to level 2. The location of the trial will turn into a Stagnant Shadow challenge where players can farm it to obtain the corresponding character Ascension material.
Note that some of these Stagnant Shadow bosses exist in Xianzhou Luofu, which means it’s necessary for people to progress through the main storyif they wish to ascend some of their characters(particularly those who hail from the aforementioned planet).
Trial Of Equilibrium Level 2 In Honkai Star Rail
Trial of Equilibrium Level 2 automatically unlocks once Trailblazers reach level 30. Like the previous trial, there are two bosses to beat, Guardian Shadow and Stormbringer. Both bosses will be level 39, so players would have a one level advantage if they max their characters to level 40.
After completing the challenge, players will unlock new features like:
Technique Points are used outside battle. Each character has different Techniques that can bring differences in combat. For instance, Dan Heng increases his own ATK, while Bronya increases the team’s ATK.Characters like Trailblazerand Bailu enable healing for the team, while units like March 7th and Asta will deal their corresponding Element’s damage as soon as the battle starts.
Other than unlocking world bosses for characters’ Ascension, Stagnant Shadow inHonkai: Star Railalso allows Trailblazers to use the boss’ location as a Teleport Waypoint. This means people can access some areas faster as some Space Anchors are quite far from certain spots.
Meanwhile, the Material Synthesis feature is somewhat like the Crafting Table inGenshin Impact.After reaching Equilibrium Level 2, people will start needing second-tier enemy drops, which means their green loot should be converted to a blue rarity. Three green drops are required to make one blue-rarity loot.
