A newHonkai: Star Railvideo shared as part of this year’s Tokyo Game Show would feature brief teasers for both Topaz and Jingliu. Jingliu makes a brief appearance during a segment featuring several of the five-star characters from the Xianzhou Luofu.Topaz appears in a fully voiced segmentat the end of the trailer, overlooking the city of Belobog on Jarilo-IV and making reference to her “picking up the tab.” Both characters are expected to release in Version 1.4, currently believed to be launching on October 11.
While HoYoverse has yet to officially reveal gameplay for either character, the developer has already given teasers about their playstyle. HoYoverse’s initial announcement confirmed Topaz will launch as a Fire character in the Hunt Path, suggesting she will heavily focus on single-target damage. Jingliu was confirmed to be an Ice Destruction character, bringing damage and versatility toStar Rail’s cast. Leaks have also revealed thegameplay for Jingliu and Topaz, giving a closer look at the RPG’s next new characters.
