Speaking ofHorizon Zero Dawn, fans of the original may want to consider revisiting it while they wait forForbidden West. At Gamescom, Guerrilla Games confirmed thatHorizon Zero Dawnhas gotten a PS5 update, so fans can enjoy 60 frames per second performance when playing the game on Sony’s next-generation console. This isn’t quite the same as a properPlayStation 5 port forHorizon Zero Dawn, but it should still make playing the game on PS5 a more worthwhile experience.
It’s unclear if aHorizon Zero DawnPS5 port will ever materialize, though it seems unlikely. After all,Horizon Forbidden Westis a cross-gen gameitself, and now that it has a release date on the calendar, it doesn’t seem like there would be all that much value to gain from porting the original. For now,Horizonfans will have to make due with the PS5 update and the performance boost that it gets from that.
There are a few gaming events planned for the later in the year, like The Game Awards, and so it’s possible fans will get another glimpse atHorizon Forbidden Westprior to its launch in February. It may or may not get anotherexclusive PlayStation State of Play event, fans should still expect to see it again in the near future.
