Rupees can be hard to come by inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, particularly during the early stages of the game. Sure, players can sell items or complete side quests to top up their balance, but saving up enough to purchase some of the game’s more expensive items is going to take an awfully long time this way. Thankfully, there is a much fastermethod for farming Rupees.

By exploiting a glitch,The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomplayers can duplicate any item that can be attached to an arrow with just a few button clicks. The process for doing so is incredibly simple and takes just a couple of seconds, allowing players to create hundreds of copies per hour, and, in turn, an endless supply of rupees.
Updated July 08, 2025, by Tom Bowen:For months now, Nintendo has been hard at work trying to patch out all of the best TotK item duplication glitches, but this is a battle that the Japanese giant seems destined to lose. As soon as one item dupe glitch is removed from the game another one is discovered, which bodes well for those who accidentally updated to version 1.2.0 of the game. Though they have their limitations, the latest TotK glitches are arguably some of the best to date, allowing players to duplicate items quickly and easily and earn Rupees at an alarming rate.

How to Duplicate Items in Version 1.2.0 of Tears of the Kingdom (Throw Method)
Duplicating items in version 1.2.0 ofTears of the Kingdomis relatively straightforward, though the process is far from a fast one. It also has a few limitations, the main one being that this glitch can only be used if a player only has one of the item that they wish to dupe. They’ll also only be able to duplicate the item twenty times due to the game’s asset limit, though there are ways to get around thisusing Zonai Device dispensers. For most situations though, 20 should be fine and can be achieved by following the steps below.
Some items will break when thrown at the ground. To get around this, players can perform the glitch near a shallow pool of water. The structure that they walk off can be made using Autobuild if needed, so thisTotKitem duplication glitch can be carried out just about anywhere.

How to Get Infinite Rupees in Version 1.2.0 of Tears of the Kingdom (Horse Drop Method)
In addition to a new item duplication glitch, version 1.2.0 ofTears of the Kingdomalso has one of the best infinite Rupee glitches to date. Granted, it requires quite a bit of setup, but once players have completed the necessary steps, they’ll be able to get to 999,999 Rupees incredibly quickly and with relative ease, particularly if they already have a decent stock of the item that they choose to sell. This works great for those who still have items left over from the previous item duplication glitches, as the more of the item they have, the quicker they’ll be able to make money using the steps below.
All of the glitches and item duplication methods below this box will no longer work on the latest version ofTears of the Kingdom. However, those who have not updated their game to the latest version will still be able to use them.

How to Duplicate Items in Tears of the Kingdom (Infinite Money) - Icy Meat Method
Those looking to duplicate specific items should scroll down a little to the multishot bow gravity method. However, anyone who’s just looking to get rich quickly will probably be better off with the icy meat method. This is because it is considerably faster, can be performed in any extreme cold weather location, and, perhaps most importantly, does not require players to get their hands on a multishot bow. In fact, assuming they’ve alreadyunlocked Autobuild, all players will need to get started is two pieces of Gourmet Meat, any two disposable weapons or shields, and a little bit of Zonaite. Assuming they have all of those things, players can follow the instructions below.
Although thisTotKitem duplication glitch requires a fair amount of setup, once players have added the mega meat sword contraption to their Autobuild favorites, they’ll be able to return to any extreme cold weather location and perform the glitch whenever they like.

How to Duplicate Items in Tears of the Kingdom (Infinite Money) - Multishot Bow Gravity Method
For the latestTotKitem duplication method, all players will need is a multishot bow, a Zonai device that will allow them to travel straight up, and the item(s) that they want to duplicate. They can upgrade the bow so that it fires five shots byfeeding it to a Rock Octorokif they like, but there’s really no need, as although doing so would technically allow them to dupe four items at a time instead of two, the time savings would be minimal.
To get started, players will need to head to an area called Tobio’s Hollow Chasm. They may have unlocked this area already by completingthe Secret of the Ruins side quest, in which case, they can simply head straight there. If not, they should make their way to the Muokuij Lightroot (0867, -2275, -05556) and then head north for a few seconds to the set of stairs that sits between the Lightroot and the nearby Construct Factory. If they then stand in the space between the stairs facing north and the ones facing east and head straight up, they’ll soon arrive in the Tobio’s Hollow Chasm.

Once they reach the top of the chasm, players should look east for a stalactite hanging down from the ceiling and then jump off theirZonai deviceand glide toward it. This will bring them to a steep slope, which they’ll need to run up for just a little while. They should stop when they come to the coordinates 1000, -2258, 0167, as this is the spot where they need to perform the glitch. They’ll know when they’re in the right place, as the atmosphere will suddenly become a lot more foggy and they’ll see another stalactite hanging down ahead of them.
Now, to perform the glitch, they should equip their multishot bow and attach the item that they want to dupe to an arrow. If they fire it up toward the stalactite, they’ll see that the arrows simply float in the air. As players approach the items, though, they’ll fall limply down to the ground, allowing players to pick up three (or five, if they upgraded their multishot bow) ofthe item that they fused to the arrowdespite only one of them having been taken from their inventory.

Players can fire off multiple arrows at a time, meaning they don’t need to go and pick up their duped items after every shot. They should keep in mind that items will start disappearing once there are more than twenty, though, so will want to limit themselves to seven shots per cycle (or five with a five-shot multishot bow). They should also try and space out their shots a little, as it is possible to hit the floating duped items and destroy them by mistake. Other than that, all players have to worry about is their multishot bow’s durability, though if they’re familiar withTotK’s weapon duplication glitches, this shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
How to Duplicate Items in Tears of the Kingdom (Infinite Money) - Shield Hop Method
The shield hop item duplication glitch was shared on Reddit by a user named heeissenberg and allows players to dupe up to five of any holdable item in just a matter of seconds. In order to pull it off, players will simply need a shield and the item that they want to dupe. Players should usethe unbreakable Hylian Shieldif they have it, as performing this glitch will damage the player’s equipped shield and eventually lead to it breaking. It’s definitely worth it though, as this is by far the best item duplication glitch inTears of the Kingdom, both in terms of how quickly it can be pulled off and how simple the process for doing so is.
If players don’t have theHylian Shield, they should be sure to equip their worst shield while performing this glitch. Players can decrease the amount of damage done to the shield by performing the glitch in shallow pools of water or in sandy or snowy areas.

How to Duplicate Items in Tears of the Kingdom (Infinite Money) - Glide Method
Discovered by a Reddit user known as USBdongle6726, the latestTotKitem duplication glitch allows players to duplicate items in a matter of seconds. All they’ll need is the item that they want to duplicate,Link’s Paraglider, and a spot high up enough to glide from. Assuming they have all of these things, players will simply need to follow the steps below:
Players should avoid dropping breakable items or ones that explode upon impact when performing thisTotKitem dupe glitch. As there is an asset limit inTears of the Kingdom(around 21 items), it’s also best not to perform the item dupe glitch more than four times in one single glide, as this could lead to some items disappearing.

How to Duplicate Items in Tears of the Kingdom (Infinite Money) - Bow Drop Method
to duplicate items, players will need four things: two bows, one arrow, andan item that can be fused to an arrow. This last item is the one that will be copied by performing theTears of the Kingdomitem duplication glitch. Assuming they have all of these things, players will simply need to follow the steps below:
If done successfully, picking up the two bows will result in players gaining an extra copy of the item that they fused to the arrow. They’ll know if the glitch worked, as the two bows will fall directly on top of each other rather than side by side. If it doesn’t work, it’s likely because players didn’t unpause and then repause the game fast enough. With a little bit of practice, though, players should be able to get the timings down and be able to successfully replicate the glitch in about three or four seconds, allowing them toduplicate an itemmore than 100 times every ten minutes or so.
For some reason, both the altitude and the incline of the spot where players attempt to perform the glitch can have an impact on whether or not it will work. With this in mind, players may want to try going to a new location if they’re having trouble cloning their items; preferably somewhere where the ground is flat.
What Are the Best Items to Duplicate?
When it comes to getting infinite money inTears of the Kingdom, the best items to duplicate are the ones with the highest value, so things likeDiamondsand otherrare gemstonesare a good place to start. Players can also use this glitch to duplicateZonaite, which can be very useful for those hoping toupgrade their Energy Cells, orbeast materials, which should come in handy for anyone who plans on having the Great Fairies upgrade some of Link’s armor. It’s even possible to duplicateZonai devicesstored in capsules, which can make map traversal considerably easier.
Although it is arguably the worst of the aforementionedTotKitem duplication glitches, the Bow Drop method can still be useful, particularly when it comes to duplicating items that break when they’re dropped or Zonai device capsules.
