How to Catch a Munchlax in Scarlet and Violet
There are two ways to get a Munchlax while exploring the new Kitakami region inPokemon Scarlet & Violet. The first way is to simply encounter one in the wild and catch it with a Poke Ball. The map above showsMunchlax’s locations, includingTimeless Woods, Kitakami Wilds,andWistful Fields.
The second way toget a Munchlaxis to check out theOgre Oustin' minigame at one of the stalls atKitakami Hall, northeast of Mossui Town. By completing all ten rounds of the game’sHard Mode, players will get aShiny Munchlaxas a bonus gift. The Pokemon will be level 1 and know two moves: Lick and Tackle.
How to Evolve Munchlax in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
In order for Munchlax to evolve to its second and final form, Snorlax, players will need to spend a lot of time with the Pokemon. That’s because Munchlax is one of the few Pokemon out there that can only evolve once itsHappiness/Friendship reaches a particular level.
When the Pokemon is at peak happiness, it will evolve once it gains one level. Here are some helpful pointers for players so they can keep their Munchlax nice and friendly:
If players ever want tocheck the friendship level of a specific Pokemon, they can head to Cascarrafa in the Paldea region and speak with a woman east of the southwestern Pokemon Center. She’ll let players pick a Pokemon and will let them know how the Pokemon feels about the trainer.
