It’s not uncommon for Sony’s first-party franchises to feature little nods to one another. In fact, it’s been happening more and more in recent years. For example, 2022’sGod of War Ragnarokfeatures a series of poems inspired by other PlayStation-exclusive titles, while the base version ofHorizon Forbidden Westboasts a collectible set dedicated to Kratos and a few of the other characters fromGod of War.

With this in mind, it’s perhaps not all that surprising that the game’s Burning Shores expansion also features an Easter egg inspired by one of its sister series. Just like the aforementionedGod of Wartotems though,Abby’s Toy Bow fromThe Last of Us Part 2is fairly well hidden and there isn’t a map marker to alert players to its presence. As such, the only way to find it is to explore every inch of The Burning Shores. Well, either that or with the help of a guide.
Where to Find Abby’s Toy Bow in The Burning Shores
Players can find Abby’s Toy Bow inside a tall building to the east of Fleet’s End. The fastest way to get there is to fast travel over tothe Murmuring Hollow Relic Ruinsand then travel northwest a little. Once they arrive at the building in question, they should make their way around its base until they find a spot where they can start the long and dangerous climb up.
Alternatively, players canuse Aloy’s flying mountto circle the building until they see an opening about two-thirds of the way up. With the right approach, this opening is large enough that players can fly Aloy’s Waterwing through it, allowing them to dismount inside. It may take a few attempts and thus a little bit of time to get the angles right, but nowhere near as long as scaling the building does.

Inside the building,Horizon Forbidden Westplayers can scan the datapoint on the desk to learn a little more about the person whose home they are in. There’s an ancient supply box nearby, but to find Abby’s Toy Bow, players will need to go into the adjoining room and look for an ancient trunk. Prying this open by holding the R2 button will grant access to the riches inside, which include Abby’s Toy Bow as well as ten Toy Arrows for it.
Can Aloy Use Abby’s Toy Bow in The Burning Shores?
Despite Abby’s Toy Bow being an Easter egg, players are able to equip it. Unfortunately, firing it at enemies won’t do much good, with regular shots only dealing a single point of damage and weak spot hits dealing three. It has no perks or coil slots and deals no elemental damage either, nor can it be upgraded. Players can craft extra ammo for it using a single Metal Shard and two pieces of Ridge-Wood, but it is very much ajoke weaponwhen all’s said and done.
Horizon Forbidden Westis available now on PS4 and PS5.
