Players will unlock several rewards by completingGod of War Ragnarok’s Valhalla DLC, but the ability to change Kratos' appearance so that he looks like his younger self is easily the pick of the bunch. Players can switch between young and old Kratos with the push of a button and can use the classic Kratos skin in both Valhalla and a regular playthrough ofGod of War Ragnarok.
As is often the case with rewards like these, players will have to work pretty hard for their prize, witha regular playthrough of Valhalla clocking in at around four hours in lengthand packing in a few fairly challenging boss fights. Most will feel that it’s well worth the effort though, particularly those who have been fans of the series since its debut back in late 2009.

How to Unlock Classic Kratos Skin in God of War Ragnarok
In order to gain the ability to switch between young and old Kratos, players will first need tocomplete the Valhalla DLC. As mentioned above, this will take around four hours in total and involves multipleencounters with Tyr. Upon emerging victorious, players should head back out to The Shore and speak with Freya and Sigrún, after which, a message will appear on screen informing them of their completion rewards.
Players should then head toward the gateway to Valhalla and speak with Gunnr to receivea new set of Spartan Armor. From here, they’ll be free to make their way to the nearbyAppearance Pedestal, wherepressing R3 will let players switch between Kratos' classic and default appearances. To complete the look, they’ll want to equip the Glory of Sparta chest piece, the Pride of Sparta wrist armor, and the Mark of Sparta waist piece that Gunnr just gave them.

How to Use Classic Kratos Skin in a Regular Playthrough
Unlike a lot of the other content in Valhalla, the classic Kratos skin can also be used in a regular playthrough and is toggled on and off in much the same way. Players simply need toopen up the menu and press R3 while hovering over either the weapons or armor tab. To obtain the new Spartan armor set, they’ll need to open up the large wooden chest in one of Brok and Sindri’s workshops. In addition to the new armor and classic Kratos appearance, players will also be able to use the Legacy Spartan Rage in the base version of the game, which, much like in Valhalla, allows Kratos to wieldthe iconic Blade of Olympus.
