The battle royale genre is about to receive its next big shooter in the form ofHyper Scape. After more than a month of letting players play early, Ubisoft will finally be launching its sci-fi take on the genre in full tomorrow, bringing with it not just console ports but an update that will kick offHyper Scape’sfirst season. It’s that update that the publisher detailed today with its patch notes.

Since the game first became playable at the start of July,Hyper Scapehas shown potential to stand out among the big battle royale gamesthrough its digital cityscape setting, agile movement options, and versatile combat options through the use of Hack abilities. At the same time, though, players have found some aspects that could definitely use improvement, but the good news is Ubisoft agrees and is trying to address several of these issues with the incoming v1.0 patch.

Perhaps the most noticeable change being made is the multiple balance tweaks to a number ofHyper Scape’s weaponsand Hacks designed to make combat snappier. For the most part, weapons will be stronger, Hacks will recharge faster, and health regeneration will activate in half the time. The idea being to encourage players to actively engage with their opponents, while also utilizing their Hacks during fights as much as their guns.

“Although we find having a slightly faster [time to kill] can be a good thing, we agree it should come more from balancing the Weapons rather than nerfing the Hacks,” Ubisoft wrote in the patch notes. “Overall, the v0.5 nerf on Hacks was too severe. Like many of you told us, we also firmly believe the unique pacing and gameplay provided by the Hacks is essential toHyper Scape, and we do not intend to drift away from that.”

Outside of the balance changes, the v1.0 patch will introduce plenty of new content to mark the start of Season 1. In addition to a new 100-tier Battle Pass and the first wave ofHyper Scape’s story content, players will be able to access a new semi-automatic rifle called the Dragonfly, a new Hack called Magnet, and a new “Lethal Melee” event that can be selected by livestream viewers through the game’s built-in Twitch support.
