Summary
Amid recent buzz around the prospect of aBloodbornePC port, Jeff Grub has reiterated that such a project doesn’t seem to be happening at the moment. Launched in 2015 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive,Bloodborneis considered by many as one of the best titles that developer FromSoftware has ever produced.
Bloodborne’s gothic world of Yharnam and Lovecraftian bosses were a steep departure compared to FromSoftware’s medieval fantasyDark Soulsseries at the time, which helped the game stand out. Such was its pull that after the launch of the PS5, fans immediately started demandingaBloodborneremaster that offers 4K 60fps performance, as the PS4 version of the game has a 30fps cap. Four years later, though, Sony has yet to do anything with the heavily-requested game, and a new report suggests the likelihood remains low.

During a recent interview, FromSoftware bossHidetaka Miyazaki remarked on a potentialBloodbornePC port, stating that it’s something he and many developers at the studio are very supportive of as they’d like the game to be experienced by as many players as possible. This led to some wondering if an updated version ofBloodborneis in the works. However, reputable industry insider Jeff Grubb has responded to the speculation, claiming, “It’s just not happening at the moment. At least not involving From. From’s time is worth too much, and Sony probably doesn’t want to pay the premium to lock it down.”
A Bloodborne Remaster/PC Port is Apparently Not Happening Right Now
There have beennumerousBloodborneremaster and PC port rumorsover the past four years that haven’t panned out, and if Grubb’s claims are to be believed, Sony and FromSoftware may not be working on anythingBloodborne-related in the near future. Interestingly, Grubb also finds it “hard to believe” that FromSoftware would ever work on a “one-console exclusive” in the same vein asDemon’s SoulsandBloodborneagain, as the studio has found mass appeal across all platforms and would presumably find it more sensible to continue with a multiplatform approach, especially in an age of ballooning game development budgets.
However, it’s also hard to believe that Sony is somehow completely unaware of thesizable demand forBloodborne. Grubb does specifically state that FromSoftware isn’t currently involved in aBloodborneremaster/PC port, but that doesn’t exclude the possibility of an internal PlayStation team working on it, as Sony does own the IP. Wishful thinking aside, though,Bloodbornefans can only play the waiting game for now.
