IRLTwitchstreamers are subject to encountering some strange things while they’re out and about, and one was recently confronted and threatened on a subway.

During her recent subway transit in Bangkok, Thailand,Twitchstreamer MissyPla was IRL streaming as she often is. While she was interacting with her chat, a nearby passenger discussed their views of various global health concerns loudly enough for her stream viewers to hear. As a result, her chat inquired about the man on the subway and MissyPla briefly pointed her camera at the unnamed passenger to show them who was talking.

Because he was being shown on camera, thissubwaypassenger confronted MissyPla by asking if she’s “really that stupid.” Shortly afterward, the man came towards MissyPla and became even more visible to her IRL stream viewers as a result. Unleashing a tirade of questions about whether or not he was being recorded, the man requested that anything MissyPla recorded of him must be deleted.

After MissyPla explained the situation to the man, he explained that if he sees the footage online he will sue the young Twitch streamer. MissyPla stated in her defense that the man came to join her as she showed her face to her Twitch viewers. Continuing to ask if he’s being recorded, the man accosting MissyPla continued to make the streamer visibly uncomfortable. Despite the constant pressure to stop recording him, MissyPla continued to IRL stream and the man eventually relented.

Shortly after being visiblythreatened on Twitchby the man on the subway, MissyPla reached her stop and exited the station. Shortly afterward, one of her viewers said “welcome to America,” to which MissyPla explained to her Twitch viewers that she is in Thailand and that there must have been some sort of misunderstanding with the English-speaking visitor. She explained that she couldn’t believe that the man would walk up to her and talk to her like he did despite keeping a cool head during the situation.

It’s currently unclear if the unnamed man in MissyPla’sIRL Twitch contentintends to file a lawsuit against MissyPla now that the footage is online. Given the fact that the two didn’t exchange information and that the man seemed unsure of what Twitch is, MissyPla may have just been bombarded by empty threats. MissyPla was also seemingly not worried about the legal threats from the man considering the fact that she continued IRL streaming.

MissyPla isn’t the firstIRL Twitch streamerto be threatened as they go about their business and she will likely not be the last. Some of the man’s worries about being filmed are valid depending on the context, but given the livestream nature of IRL Twitch, MissyPla had no way of protecting the man’s identity. Clips of the altercation have also appeared online since the IRLTwitchstream.
