My Sonwill find a home onPeacockand Roku following its initial release. STXfilms has agreed to a deal that will allow the two streaming platforms to share the rights to the film.

My Sonwas originally set to debut only onPeacockbut STX looked to expand availability by bringing Roku into the fold. By offeringMy Sonon two streaming services, STX hopes that the film will be able to generate more revenue.

Peacock will debutMy Sonon its platform on September 15. It will remain on the NBCUniversal platform before itmoves to Rokuon December 15 in the United States. STX Chairman Adam Fogelson spoke on the deal, admiring that it increases the value for the three companies involved in the deal. Fogelson also insists that the companies are not the only ones to benefit from the deal. Instead, it is a benefit for movie fans, who now have the chance to streamMy Sonon whichever platform they prefer.

STX is not unfamiliar with producing a high-stakes thriller, as it has given movie fans films includingThe Irishman,Molly’s Game,21 Bridges, The Gift,The Boy, and countless others. Roku’s VP of programming, Rob Holmes, is happy that the platform is able to deliver on its goal of bringing exciting entertainment to viewers in a “free, ad-supported environment.” Holmes looks forward to the partnership STXfilms and Roku have forged, hoping to deliver more of STX’scontent to Rokuin the near future.

My Sonis a remake of Christian Carion’s French version of the film. Carion serves as the writer and director of the English version of the film starring James McAvoy and Claire Foy. The film will follow Edmond Murrary (McAvoy) after he receives a distressing call from his ex-wife, revealing that their 7-year-old son has gone missing. For the making of this film,McAvoy was never given a scriptfor the thriller. Instead, he uncovered the mystery of the film along with movie viewers, improvising his lines and performance.

McAvoy, who stunned viewers as the many complex personalities of Dennis in the 2016 thillerSplit, will makeMy Sonan interesting film to behold. Relying on his own instincts to get through the film, McAvoy is guaranteed to deliver a performance that will generate a bit of buzz. Starring alongside Foy, who has received critical acclaim for her performance as Queen Elizabeth II inNetflix’sThe Crown, this STX production will thrill movie fanatics in more ways than one.

My Sonwill be released on Peacock on Jul 12, 2025, before heading to Roku on June 03, 2025.
