InLightyear Frontier, Iron and Iron Bar are two essential crafting items. However, you can only obtain them after progressing through the first couple of missions. To acquire Iron, specific locations must be unlocked, while constructing specific machines on the farm is necessary for obtaining Iron Bars. How to Get Iron
To unlock Iron deposits, you must restore theYellow Forest, Mountainside Coast, or Stepstone Peak. Upon restoration, these three regions yield Iron Ores, which you can break with the Spike Saw to get Iron. (The Spike Saw is in one of the drop zones marked by yellow smoke.)
Unlockingthe Yellow Forestis the easiest way to get Iron, as it requires only one upgraded restoration tool. The other two regions are rather tricky to restore if you are a beginner, so aim for the Yellow Forest first.
How to Craft Iron Bars
Once you get Iron Ores,build a Furnace to turn them into Iron Bars. Simply place one Ore andone piece of Coalin the Furnace and wait a few in-game minutes. (The Furnace unlocks once you build the Assembler and start crafting Copper Wire.)
Furnace Recipe:
Toget Clayfor Furnace,you must build a Grinder. This tool allows you to crush Stone and get Stone Dust, which can be turned into Clay in the Assembler. You can construct a Grinder once you have Stone (12), Copper Wire (4), and Aluminum Rod (4).
Copper is found in the Edge Cliffs area.
How to Get Steel Bars
In Lightyear Frontier, Steel is made of Iron. To make a Steel Bar,place one Iron Bar and two pieces of Coal in the Furnace. The extended melting process will strengthen this material, turning Iron into Steel, a crucial crafting item.

How to Get Coal for Making Iron Bars
Coal is an abundant resourcecommonly found near and around caves. Fortunately, all eight regions contain deposits of Coal, making it easier for you to harvest large quantities. Additionally, you may have the opportunity topurchase Coal from the Merchant, provided they have a Merchant Landing constructed on their farm.
