Summary

Dual Wielding inLords of the Fallenis interesting, as it doesn’t quite work as people who are familiar with dual wielding in other Soulslikes might expect. Essentially, it seems like the intention behind the design of this system is that one-handing or two-handing a single weapon is good for 1v1 combat such as boss fights and dual wielding is best for groups of enemies.

But, more than that, dual wielding can also output more damage as a whole, can build up status effects easier, and sometimes it might even have a better moveset than any of the individual weapons the player is using. So, let’s go over some of the best dual-wielding options players have found inLords of the Fallen.

Lords of the Fallen - Wayfarer’s Hammer and Devotion’s Might

57 Physical & 22 Wither Damage

N/A

First up let’s go over two Short Swords that were essentially designed to be used together, AKA the Right-hand and Left-hand Bringer of Stillness Swords. Both of these are obtained from the Bringer of Stillness (though it can be a bit of a pain to get both), and both swords look essentially the same.

However, despite their looks, the two swords are slightly different, as the Left-hand Sword builds up Frostbite while the Right-hand Sword deals additional Wither damage. When combined and with the right gear, these swords will shred every enemy in sight, and they’ll look great doing it too.

Lords of the Fallen - Bloodlust and Bloody Glory

Lords of the Fallen - Example Of Dagger Paired With Any Other Weapon

83 Physical & 83 Holy Damage

100 Smite Damage

Jumping rightfrom an Agility-focused combinationto a Strength-focused one, let’s go from swords to bonk, otherwise knownas a dual Grand Hammer setup. Both the Devotion’s Might and the Iron Wayfarer’s Hammer are among the best of the best weapons inLords of the Fallen.

And, even though their intended usage seems slightly different (Iron Wayfarer’s Hammer seems to scale more for all-rounded builds) they will still cave in the skull of almost any enemy in the game when used together. Sure, it’s slow, but players will notice they have power armor when charging some of the Heavy Attacks, they’ll always be dealing some sort of elemental damage the enemy is weak to thanks to the Wayfarer’s Hammer, and it’s very hard to miss an attack on an enemy when using this combo.

35.1

Lords of the Fallen - Sword of Pieta And Elianne The Starved Sword

70 Physical & 70 Holy Damage

300 Bleed Damage

This next recommendation is a bit out there as it’s not entirely centered around using both of these weapons at the same time, but hear us out. Essentially, Bloodlust is one of the most popular weapons inLotFfor a number of reasons, but the main reason is that it has an innate effect ofrestoring some of the player’s healthon every kill.

However, it turns out the player doesn’t actually need to have the Bloodlust in hand to get that effect, they just need it equipped. So, with that in mind, Players can equip the Bloodlustand the Bloody Glory, use the Bloody Glory 2-handed most of the time, switch to dual-wielding to deal with mobs, and still get the benefits of the heal-on-kill passive regardless.

Lords of the Fallen - Final Whisper and Talon

7Most Daggers + A Short Sword Or Fist Weapon

Lightning Fast With A Huge Parry Window

Next up is another odd recommendation, as it’s not recommending any weapon in particular. Essentially, this next entry is just to mention that players who like quicker movesets and want to interact with the parrying system inLords of the Fallenmore should absolutely use either two Daggers dual-wielded or a Short Sword/Fist weapon (heck even an Axe works) and a Dagger in their Shield Hand.

This recommendation comes from the fact that different weapons/shields inLotFhave different parry windows, with Daggers being the largest which makes sense given how much damage the player will take if they miss the timing. So, if a player uses something like Jefferey’s Dagger and Elianne the Starved’s Sword at the same time, they’ll find that they’re not only able to dish out a ton of damage but also able to react to most situations with a parry and be successful.

Lords of the Fallen - Flail of Wisdom Up Close

6.9

37 Physical & 37 Fire Damage

60 Bleed & 60 Burn Damage

Not to mention the same weapon on here too many times, but there’s another combination that’s absurdly strong that also includes the Bloodlust Short Sword. To get this combo, players need to either kill Kukajin or advance her questline enough.

Once they do either of these things, they’ll find themselves with her Sword that scales absurdly well with Agility, is fantastic for applying both Bleed/Poison, and looks great to boot. Then, add the Bloodlust into this as a dual wield option, and suddenly players are causing every enemy to gush blood, cough up poison, and heal the player once they finally die.

Lords of the Fallen - Ebonlight and Luminous Abiding Defender Swords

5.1

5.3

Lords of the Fallen - Judge Cleric Holding Out Her Corrupted Sword

69 Holy Damage

90 Smite Damage

And now for another weapon combo that was literally designed, it’s Elianne the Starved Sword and Pieta’s Sword. One of these weapons is a lot more famous than the other, given that Pieta’s Sword has beendominating the online PvP ofLords of the Fallensince the game first launched.

However, while Elianne the Starved’s Sword isn’t nearly as good as Pieta’s it’s still pretty good overall. Granted, the Inferno stat requirement is a bit rough on this thing, but as long as players get theCrafter’s Essence Runethat’s not a problem. And, if they do manage to use these two visually amazing swords together, players will find that they also get a unique attack with this combination that no other weapon combo has.

2.7

2.9

78 Physical Damage

60 Frostbite Damage

Thankfully there are a good number of Fist Weapon options inLords of the Fallen. While not the most popular of weapon types in Soulslikes, there has always been a dedicated fanbase of Soulslike players who go for the Caestus builds or something similar.

And inLotF, the Final Whisper and Talon make for a pretty absurdly strong gauntlet combination. While the Talon is assuredly the better option of the two, the Final Whisper also deals Wither damage but also has a bit of Poison buildup on top of it. Combine this with the fact that Fist Weapons have a pretty incredibly fast attack speed, and enemies truly will be letting out one final whisper.

6.3

83 Physical Damage

While the idea of running around swinging Flails in a game where giant broadswords and polearms are an option is hilarious in of itself, that doesn’t mean that the Flails inLords of the Fallenare all that ‘worth using’. The Flail moveset is pretty hard to get a lot of use out of aside from the running light attack while two-handing one.

However, the Flail of Wisdom is inarguably the best Flail option in the game, and its Physical Damage scaling is actually pretty impressive. So the optimal recommendation is to run two of these things just for the hilarity (and actual damage) of the dual Flail attacks, but doing sorequires going into NG+, so in the meantime, players can replace the second Flail of Wisdom with something like the Flail of Holy Agony for one of the most goofy looking builds outside of maybea pure Consumable/Throwable build.

36.2

37.2

73 Physical & 73 Holy Damage

250 Bleed Damage

The Abiding Defenders area bit of a polarizing boss fight(and eventually elite enemy) among the player base ofLords of the Fallen. Some people actually really enjoy their 2-on-1 boss fight while others absolutely despise it. Regardless of the opinion, however, it’s pretty much a known fact that both of their swords are absolutely fantastic, especially when used together.

Both weapons have the same visual aesthetic, scale of the same stats, and put out about the same amount of Physical Damage. However, where they differ is in their elemental damage, as the Ebonlight Sword has Bleed and Wither while the Luminous Sword has Bleed and Holy damage. Sadly, this combination isn’t reallyavailable in the early or mid-game, which can be a bit of a bummer.

19.0

15.6

67 Physical, 33 Holy, & 33 Fire Damage

And for the final recommendation, let’s go over another incredibly unique inclusion with a combo that’s meant for players who are evenly spreading their stats across the board. Both Rosamund’s Sword and Judge Cleric’s Corrupted Sword are weapons that scale pretty well in all four stats of Strength, Agility, Radiance, and Inferno.

While Rosamund’s Sword doesn’t have quite the same amount of Strength and Agility scaling that Judge Cleric’s sword has at max rank, both scale pretty well with Radiance and Inferno especially. Using these two weapons, players can build in a way that allows them to have a lot of speed, a lot of raw power, access to all three types of sorcery, and the ability to use all kinds of Umbral spells.
