As ifMoon Knightwasn’t enough of a mind-bending experience,Thor: Love and Thunderentered the fray with its first teaser. Certain fan theories suggest the two Marvel Studios projects might be connected, and perhaps that’s why the show’s writers have had to address the matter and clear up whether there’s any room at all for Thor and Marc to cross paths.

Despite not appearing once in Marvel Studios' briefThor: Love and Thunderpreview, it’s a well-known fact that Gorr the God Butcher, played by Christian Bale, will be the movie’s main villain, withNatalie Portman’s Jane Foster becoming Mighty Thor. With a god killer on the loose in the MCU, some would speculate Earth’s vast selection of gods would attract his attention, such asMoon Knight’s very own Konshu or any other of his Egyptian peers.

Leave it then to writer Beau DeMayo to clear up the landscape a bit, with theMoon Knightcreative being asked about it by The Direct. His answer is not quite telling though because all he has to say is, “You know, I don’t know what they are doing in [Thor: Love and Thunder]. My honest answer is ‘I don’t know’…,” claiming that -as a Marvel fan- he enjoys staying the dark on these topics. He did confess to being very curious about Gorr possibly going after Konshu, however, for him, it’s also very possible for writers to remain entrenched in their own scripts, even when accounting for the MCU’s vastly collaborative nature.

Moon Knightis DeMayo’s first Marvel project, though not the only one because he has also been named executive producer inDisney Plus’X-Men ‘97, the upcoming reboot of the ’90s animated series. That said, his most iconic work so far is Netflix’sThe Witcherand its associated spinoffs. Whatever the case, DeMayo does not appear too keen on getting a major Marvel Studios blockbuster spoiled working from the inside.

Whatever the case, with only one episode remaining, there’s still no sign ofMoon Knightbeing connected to anything else in the MCU at all, so tying him to the cosmic threat that is Gorr to Thor seems a bit of a stretch. As of now, it’s not even known whatGorr will look like inThor: Love and Thunderbecause most of the leaks have stemmed from merchandise and toys, plus the fact that it’s possible Taika Waititi and the studio would want to keep Bale at least somewhat recognizable.

The movie already has a ton to deal with as it is because Jane’s cancer storyline is confirmed to be a major plot element and even Zeus will be showing up as another major target for Gorr the God Butcher. So perhaps he will be a bit too busy to try to kill Konshu whenThor: Love and Thunderpremieres this summer.

Moon Knightis now streaming on Disney Plus andThor: Love and Thunderis scheduled to be released in theaters on June 24, 2025.
