The iconic specter-ninja Scorpion of theMortal Kombatseries is one of the most instantly recognizable characters from any fighting game. He has been featured in almost every singleMortal Kombatgame, and is particularly known for his commanding “GET OVER HERE” voice line.

EachMortal Kombatgame gives characters a different move set. As the years have gone on, Scorpion’s move set has stayed largely the samewith some added abilities. He only had two special moves in the first game, four in the second, and then continued to gain regular additions to his combat arsenal as more games were released.
10Air Throw - Mortal Kombat 2
Scorpion’s Air Throw special move originally debuted inMortal Kombat 2.For this special, Scorpion will interrupt his opponent when they attack by jumping up into the air and grabbing them in retaliation.
It has beenused in a fewMortal Kombatgamessince its first usage in the second entry, where players simply had to block in the air to activate it.

9Leg Takedown - Mortal Kombat 2
Another iconic Scorpion special that debuted inMortal Kombat 2was his Leg Takedown. This move isn’t as flashy or fiery as some of his other hellish moves, but it’sone of his more effective.
For this special, Scorpion will quickly slide on the ground, intercut his legs with his opponents', and then spin back to a standing position to trip them. It’s been used in multipleMortal Kombatgames, and it’s one of his only specials that resembles a real fighting move.

8Teleport Punch/Kick - Mortal Kombat I
Scorpion’s Teleport Punch and Teleport Kick specials are some of his most iconic abilities, and they debuted all the way back in his first appearance. They are the easiest way to close the distance on an opponent, but if it doesn’t hit it can leave the player open to retaliation.
The Teleport Punch and Teleport Kick have evolved over the years but generally show Scorpion flying off to one side of the screen only to suddenly appear on the other side. InArmageddon, though, he instead appears right behind his opponent mid-punch.

7Fire Breath - Mortal Kombat 4
Scorpion’s Fire Breath ability technically debuted in the first game as a fatality, specifically the famous “Toasty!” fatality. However, in someMortal Kombatgames, Scorpion has the ability to breathe fire anytime, not just to finish off a foe.

It works just like the fatality, where Scorpion will suddenly shoot flames at his opponent directly from his mouth. It came back forMortal Kombat 11as an equitable Kombo attack as well as a Brutality finisher.
6Summoned Hellfire - Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance
Scorpion wouldn’t be nearly theedgy spear-throwing skeleton ninjahe is without an overabundance of hellfire. Surprisingly, his special move to summon hellfire beneath his opponent’s location didn’t come into the game untilMortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance.
The move is a tough one to pull off well because it has such a long animation where Scorpion stands still. It’s a fantastic follow-up to any attack that knocks an opponent down, though.

5Backflip Kick - Mortal Kombat: Deception
Scorpion got a lot more agile forDeceptionandArmageddon, where one of his special moves is a Backflip Kick. It debuted inMortal Kombat: Deception, but also appeared in the non-direct sequel, though it hasn’t appeared in a game since.
Scorpion will not only backflipkick his opponent’s face, which is impressive enough, but he will scorch them too with his hellfire as he flips.

4Minon Grab - Mortal Kombat X
Mortal Kombat Xchanged up the iconic abilities of many main characters, Scorpion included. He gained the ability to hold his opponent in place by summoning a portal to the Netherworld, and several minions will hold them still for a few seconds.

It can only be used by players who choose the Inferno variation for Scorpion, which comes with a number of other minion-based abilities.
3Hell Port - Mortal Kombat 11
Hell Port isone of the most useful abilitiesScorpion has ever had access to, and it only appears in one game (so far). The ability debuted inMortal Kombat 11, and allows Scorpion to quickly evade attacks by teleporting backward and leaving a copy behind in his place for a moment.
It’s not unlike Sub-Zero’s Ice Clone ability, but the visage of Scorpion doesn’t get in foes' way like the Ice Clone does.

2Double Spear- Mortal Kombat X
Mortal Kombat Xwas a turning point for the series as itgot back to its competitive rootsand turned up the intensity of every character to 11. Players with good timing (and a good sense for enhancing their abilities at the right time) can actually get two spears for the price of one.
Unfortunately, the game doesn’t play two “GET OVER HERE” clips on top of one another, as hilarious as that would be. It does more damage, though, and looks a whole lot more brutal when both arms launch spears.

1"GET OVER HERE" - Mortal Kombat I
It’s hard to choose any Scorpion special move thatoutranks the original, the iconic, the revered Spear special that debuted all the way back at the beginning. Every single appearance of Scorpion has given him the Spear special, along with the classic “GET OVER HERE” voice line.
While Scorpion might have more useful moves, or more powerful specials, his original Spear attack is often credited as one of the most iconic moves in any fighting game, let alone justMortal Kombat.
