End Transmission, the new chapter coming to the multiplayer horror hitDead by Daylight, will see the addition of new sci-fi themed content to the game, including a killer, survivor, and a new map. Since its launchDead by Daylighthas become the place to be for horror fans looking for a great asymmetrical multiplayer experience, as the title has added a litany of famous horror icons across films, TV, and video games.WhileDead by Daylight’s biggest draw by far is its collection oficonic horror killers such as Michael Myers, Ghostface, and Freddy Krueger, among others, Behaviour Interactive hasn’t forgotten to let its original characters have some time in the spotlight. After all, the foundation of the game was built on original characters and while they may not be as popular as the franchise headliners, it seems Behaviour is still interested in creating new stories with original killers and survivors. This upcoming chapter will look to expand into a sci-fi horror setting with a new killer and its survivor.RELATED:2 New Dead by Daylight Games Are In DevelopmentDead by Daylighttook to Twitter to reveal a minute-long narrative trailer for its28th DLC chapter titled End Transmissionthat will launch on June 13. The video, narrated by the new survivor Gabriel Soma, takes place on an alien world where Gabriel and his team had presumably crash-landed. He explains that a robot that was with his crew, the new killer called The Singularity, has gone rogue and has slaughtered the remainder of his surviving crew mates. The trailer then shows The Singularity in hot pursuit of Gabriel as he tries to escape the clutches of the once friendly robot.
As is the standard for anyDead by Daylightcharacter, Gabriel and The Singularity each start with three unique character perks. Gabriel has a perk named Troubleshooter that triggers when he’s being chased by the killer and allows him to see the generator with the most progress on the map. On the flip side, The Singularity has a perk that lets it compromise a generator to become undetectable, gaining a small speed boost for 20-30 seconds as well. The new map called Toba Landingis set on an alien world featuring a rocky, more open area as well as a lush forest that serves as a tighter environment, providing plenty of cover for survivors to hide.
Live service games are very challenging to maintain with a constant stream of new content for players. It would be even more difficult to sustain a live service game using only licensed characters fromother franchises likeHalloweenorNightmare on Elm Street. With that in mind, it seems like Behavior Interactive knows the importance of creating new original characters and stories rather than relying solely on horror icons to keepDead by Daylightalive and well.
Dead by Daylightis available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
